You would need two sets of lower case and one set of upper case for each name.

Two sides feature embossed letters. The other four sides are blank.

Q: Is this made of solid wood with no glue or ink?

Alphablanks are made with solid basswood, and do not contain glue or ink.

Q: if decorating - can you use regular permanent sharpies or must be oil based? Also, do you need to coat them with something after or leave as is?

When we use ink on the blocks its water based, we never coat the blocks since there is a chance children will put them in their mouths, we suggest leaving them as is.
