comfortable walking shoes
These are comfortable straight from the box. Sizing is slightly on the larger size. I am normally a size 8.5 but these size 8's fit perfectly . To be critical the sole does wear down quickly but they do give great levels of grip also. I have bough another pair in grey for best .

Decent, for the money.
They’re pretty decent shoes for the money. I’m on my 3rd pair, solid, comfy, affordable. Only thing is the soles wear out quite quickly, especially the heel. But for every day and work use they’re pretty good, you’ll get about a year out of them. You get what you pay for, and for the money these are good.

These are great shoes - very hard wearing
These are the third pair of these shoes I have purchased. They are great and I wear them most of the time for social, walking, gardening etc. They last a long time and are well made. I will continue to buy in the future. The price was very fair. I highly recommend them. The only downside is that they are not waterproof but the manufacture never claims that they are.

Best Trainer shoe I have ever worn.
I have been wearing this model of trainer for at least the last 20 years. It is very comfortable and its style hasn't gone out of fashion. It is very hardwaring and the colour scheme very practical. They are never off my feet. Thumbs up for Hi-tec Quadra every time.

Thin soles. Not waterproof.
I've had Hi-Tecs before. I find the inners wear out quickly but the outers are quite durable and they're comfortable. These ones look OK but the soles are very thin, so not very comfortable to walk in. Also, the tongue is not sealed to the uppers so water can get in. Some adverts (including the Hi-Tec) website, claim these are waterproof, but they're clearly not. Will have to see how long they last.

Well designed and comfortable.
This shoe is actually the Quadra II - the replacement for the Quadra Classic. The suede is far more durable than cheaper man-made alternatives and the fabric part of the upper allows for your feet to breathe. I have eventually worn the soles down on my previous "Classic" trainers before any of the uppers have failed, which is a major improvement on all the other types of trainer I have owned .

Wear Quickly And Waterproofing Disappears Quick
Been buying these and the very similar previous Hi-Tec shoes for many years. Loved them - hard wearing, waterproof, low sole and comfortable. No longer. This last pair lasted less than a year. The sole has worn thin in places, the waterproofing has completely gone and they're quite scrapey on the skin of the toes. However, the tongue and ankle area has kept its thick sponge shape, making it a bother to get your feet in. I had gotten used to wearing the previous ones like slip-ons (with the laces permanently tied), without any detriment. Won't be buying Hi-Tec again as they've clearly gone down the cheap and nasty route (like many others).

Good trainers at the price.
The trainers fit well and are comfortable to wear all day. Eventually one or more lace holes will fail and the seams where the upper meets the sole will start to fray and develop holes - at least with the general wear that I subject them to over about a year. The soles remain grippy and intact throughout - it's just the base of the uppers that starts to let go. However, for one to have adequate trainers for a year at around £40 is not a bad deal, so I'm on my third or fourth pair of these Hi-Tec Quadras now.
