Dell Optiplex 3060 Intel Core i5-8500 X6 3GHz 16GB 256GB SSD Win10, Black (Renewed)

This is a nice fast computer due to a recent CPU and SSD boot drive. The one I received was cosmetic grade A, no scratches at all, not even on the front where four USB ports are located.The caveat (not the refurbisher's fault) is regarding the M2 slot in Dell 3060 SFF computers. The Dell spec sheet says the PCI version for NVMe SSD is 3.0 x 4, but in fact it is only 2.0 x 4. (For example, if you buy an M2 NVMe SSD with specs for sequential read of 3500 mbps, you're actually going to get speeds of about 1750 mbps.) There are several forums where this is discussed, i.e., it's a known thing. Despite that, Dell has not changed the spec sheet, which isn't exactly stellar business behavior. I just wanted potential buyers to be aware of that beforehand (unlike myself). Mine came with a SATA SSD and I added an M2 NVMe SSD just for the sake of using the M2 slot. It's still plenty fast, but it's not what Dell advertises it to be.

The image and product description claims its a full size desktop. It is not, however it’s pretty fast and modern. Pop in an external Ssd and you’re golden. If you plan on putting a gpu in it, it WONT HAPPEN. Buy a pci extension cable and please buy a card that doesn’t need power, (RTX 3050 6gb). Not a bad computer, also remember it’s only 160 bucks.

For the price this is an excellent computer for running Windows 10, 11 and future versions (I'm an IT professional and work and setup these a lot).My only complaint (and the seller knew this before shipping it) is that the CMOS battery in it was dead and needed to be replaced. All desktops and laptops have a CMOS battery (like a watch battery) inside them (I'm not talking about the main battery that's in the laptop). This little battery keeps track of the BIOS settings and in particular, the Date/Time even when the computer is unplugged from power.As soon as I first turned it on I got the screen that the BIOS needed to be configured. Not a big deal for me because I knew exactly why I was getting it. The batteries are cheap (I had a couple on hand), replaced it and the startup settings (along with the Date/Time) now remains, even after being unplugged from power.I say the seller knew this because the BIOS log showed the computer started several time back in September (obviously when they were preparing it) and they would have got the same notice at power on that I did. But like I said, a very good computer and the price was right as well.

This is a regular size computer that is your typical thick and bulky computer. Average refurbished quality not “excellence” and packaging is terrible. I am surprise the computer didn’t arrive more banged up.

PC has an i5-8400 CPU, not 8500. Same chip just clocked slightly slower. Also had a dead BIOS battery (easily replaceable CR2032). Nothing major, just kind of annoying.

Product that was delivered was as described. PC works great, should provide everything that I will need for years to come for a home computer.

Setup was flawless and easy. So far no problems at all.
