middle-upper middle class black america
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for a view of African-Americans who have been able to take advantage of education and earnings to buy homes in good neighborhoods. It covers many aspects of the experience, from home-hunting and being steered away from mainly white neighborhoods (by both black and white realtors), to raising and educating children, to negotiating shopping. Another great book to read is Black Picket Fences.

Very Realistic and Accurate Depictions
Excellent book which portrays exactly what it’s like to be black and middle class. It depicts the struggles black people face despite their socioeconomical status.

Mentally stimulating
If you're taking a sociology class or are just sociologically inclined this is a great choice. I bought it for my sociology class and even though I hated my professor, Blue Chip Black is a good read and an interesting piece to think on.
