His Dark Materials: The Complete Second Season (DVD)

I really liked the first season, and the second season does not disappoint. The actors and actresses are all excellent, though the series does suffer from the "Game of Thrones" problem where the seasons are so short and the production times so long that the actors are in imminent danger of aging out of their roles. The only other complaint I have is that (probably due to budgetary constraints) Lyra's world is a bit too similar to our world, unlike in the novels where Lyra's world runs on different technologies. In this regard, the movie "The Golden Compass" did it better, but this is a TV show, not a mega budget film franchise, and if I hadn't read the novels, this probably wouldn't have bothered me at all. Both seasons of His Dark Materials does a fine job of adapting the novels into film, and Dafne Keene really shows her acting chops in this series. The one downer is that the second series has only 7 episodes instead of the planned 8, due to Covid shutting down production. The unfilmed episode would have shown what Lyra's father, Lord Asrael, was doing while Lyra was off having her adventures. I am eagerly awaiting the third and final season, which will adapt the third novel of the series.

This production is so well done and satisfying. The extras are excellent too as are all three seasons. Books are phenomenal.

I liked everything about the series what I didn’t like was that it took so long to get to the American market I bought it as a gift for my grandson I already had one so he was able to see both series 1 and series 2

Loved and brought the first season. Waiting for some time off to binge watch this dvd.

This is a part to a series that I have recently added to my collection. I have watched it and plan to watch it several more times!

this and season 1 are as close to the books as anybody will probably get..THE SHOW HAS EXCELLENT PERFORMERS AS WELL AS A HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTION TEAM. I AM VERY INTERESTED FOR SEASON THREE WHEN AVAILABLE.

Great. Sometimes the voices got low then had a bit of trouble because of the British accents but really nothing to complain about. Just wish it didn’t end. Hope there is another season real soon!

Non si finisce mai di imparare!Con questo aquisto ho scoperto per la prima volta che dvd vengono codificati secondo l'area geografica nella quale verranno venduti e che non sono leggibili al di fuori di essa.Strano allora che un dvd codificato per la zona 1 (Canada e Stati Uniti) venga venduto in Italia che è zona 2, come tutto il resto d'Europa.Dunque un avviso a tutti i miei concittadini europei: il vostro player dvd o blu-ray potrebbe non essere capace di leggere questi dischi, dato che, se i lettori sono stati comprati all'interno dell'UE, essi saranno probabilmente impostati per leggere solo dischi della zona 2. Almeno il mio lo è.Tutto questo può essere evitato naturalmente se si controlla il piccolo numero sul retro della custodia del dvd (foto), cosa che purtroppo qui non era possibile prima dell'acquisto, dato che non c'è alcun immagine disponibile su amazon e nemmeno nella descrizione.Sconsiglio vivamente di comprare questo dvd dunque se vivete al di fuori degli Stati Uniti o del Canada. Rischiate che siano soldi sprecati, se non trovate un lettore in grado di leggere i dischi.Meglio spendere qualche euro in più e comprare il prodotto dal Regno Unito. Stessa zona regionale dvd.
