I have used several over the past couple of years, and have never been disappointed. I do try plenty of other skin care lines, and Control Corrective is in my top 5. This Control Corrective Dermaceutical Beyond Brightening Complex is not only new to me, but also very new to their brand offerings. My 40 something dry skin (with type 1 rosacea) handles this very well. It can be used all over or just spot treated. Little goes a long way, so mind as well cover the face (and/or neck, chest, backs of hands). Very light weight, fully absorbable gel serum for use under other serums, moisturizers, and SPF.-While the amount is fairly low, you are new to alpha hydroxy acids, you may want to start low (few times a week) just to see how your skin reacts. Otherwise use it daily!, On rare occasion people have sensitivity to Niacinamide- redness, irritation. This is rare and it isn't a matter of getting used to it. My wife is a fan Control Corrective Retinol Serum that actually a far better buy for most faces than most competing brands since it included a high percentage of its most essential ingredient for a fair price. What about this more targeted Brightening Complex? We with the ingredients list were more accessible before ordering than finding it on the third picture down, wrapped around the back of the picture of the bottle. Most prominent after water is Niacinamide, a Vitamin B skin healing powerhouse. As you will note there is a mix of natural ingredients like green tea and natural oils, along with one preservative at the bottom of the ingredients list is worth knowing about: Phenoxyethanol.There have been reports of uncommon reactions to phenoxyethanol being quite rarely linked to eczema and strong allergic reactions. Phenoxyethanol use is often strongly discouraged by safe cosmetics advocates to be used around infants including those who are breast feeding. While the target market for this product is not likely to be young mothers, grandmothers love to hug their grandbabies and studies indicate this preservative should be avoided around the youngest of children. Those who wish to learn more and make the best personal decision regarding this ingredient may consider doing an online search for “phenoxyethanol safety.”Keep in mind that several beauty brands include phenoxyethanol. Have used, and liked, other Control Corrective products, namely their redness relief and sunscreen, but this one was too strong for my only-occasionally sensitive skin, leaving it very red and irritated for several days. Your mileage may vary, but I'd advise being cautious when using first time—which I would have done normally, but trusted brand from previous positive encounters.

I have been using this serum for quite a while now, and have been very happy with the results. It's a brightening serum, so I was hoping that it would do well to remove some of the age spots that I have developed on my face. Just to give you some idea, my age spots are not terribly predominant as I'm not that old yet, being in my early forties. However, they are becoming apparent, and I wanted to see whether or not this serum would do well to remove them, or at the very least lighten them up a bit. I'm happy to say that after using it for a few weeks, I have noticed a marketable difference in the intensity of the age spots. They have certainly lightened. So much so, that I would say it's fairly noticeable as far as the difference is concerned. I had read that some of the ingredients in this serum can cause irritation. I didn't suffer any irritation to my skin at all, and I am someone who will have a tendency to have a dry spot here and there. This serum did not exacerbate my dry spots at all. It saturated very well, and I was happy with the results that I got from its use. All in all, it wouldn't exactly qualify as an inexpensive skin care product, but I would say given the considerations of the ingredients list, it is fairly reasonably priced. Also, when you pay that kind of money for a product, you expect results, and I'm happy to report that I was very pleased with the results of using this serum. You have to keep in mind, that using a serum like this may cause irritation to different people, as we all have different skin types, but for my application it was very very good. Therefore, I would recommend trying it.
