SIRIUS XM Radio 5 Volt Hard Wire Power Adapter Roady XT, MyFi, Xpress, onyX, Sportster

I tried to hard wire the plug-in adapter for a clean no wire or adapter showing but it was just a waste of time. You can't just cut the adapter off to hard wire because it is a power reducer that converts the 12 volt down to 5 volts. I pretty much wasted 1/2 a day trying at least 2 different ways to wire in the cigarette lighter styled adapter before I got on-line to check other options. I ordered this Sirius XM adapter and tossed the cigarette lighter one in the trash, this great little product did the trick. Another trick I did to mount my Onyx radio in my 2003 Tundra using the mount that came with the XM kit was to remove the ashtray, remove the metal part and the face, cut off 1/2" off the front of it with my chop saw (ashtray is plastic)then put the ashtray in backwards. Then just drill two holes to mount the bracket with small bolts and run the wires into the ashtray to the XM dock mount.

If you are a little handy and can find a way to tap into a power line, this is not too difficult to install. It works great!

I was sick of looking at the bulky cigarette lighter to power my Sirius XM tour radio. Bought this to hardwire my Sirius xm radio to my Kenwood head unit. Worked perfectly. When I turn my Kenwood head unit on, my Sirius xm radio turns on. Much cleaner install without the cigarette plug. Highly recommend

I ordered two of this item for my two vehicles. I didn't even know these items existed until I read the ads. I was using cigarette lighters to power my cell phone charger and Dock and Play satellite radio. Now, my Dock and Play radio is permanently powered. One arrived quickly with the invoice showing two items. I waited a couple of days to make sure the second item was not in the mail. I emailed the supplier, received a response that the second was on its way, and received it a couple of days later. That's great service! These were easily installed and work perfectly in both my vehicles. Great product. I will definitely look here when the need for accessories comes up.

ditch the cigarette lighter power plug for sirius radios. I can't believe this isnt included in the kit. Serious oversight on part of sirius ONYX or similar kits. If you want a clean install, (who doesn't) that does not have wires upon wires running in tandem from your dash to your dock, then you need this!You can try to adapt the cigarette lighter plug that comes with the radio, but you must keep all the capacitors and electronic gadgetry intact and that provved to be too much of a PITA. So buy this. You will be happy you did.

After my Onyx car power adapter died on me I was looking for a replacement & came across this. I’ve always wanted to hard wire it and free up an outlet anyway, so I figured why not give it a shot! So far (it has been a couple of months now) it has worked great!

I ordered this to set up my truck with my portable Sirius radio. The first one did not work . Not having patience I immediately ordered another one from them. Then a quick text to the Satelite Radio Superstore and they were back to me the next day. I did not pursue trying to return the one that didn't work but the fact that the store got back to me so quickly gave them a perfect rating. By the way the second one works great.

I hated when the radio would turn off due to an accidental bump of the power cord. This got wired directly to the head unit power so now it turns on/off with the ignition. No more dead batteries after a long weekend and forgetting to turn off the Sirius radio. Great product that comes with sufficient cords to complete any install.
