The starch is converted into a polymer, the main ingredient in materials that have a plastic-like feel. A kind of acid called polylactic acid (PLA) is made from the corn starch. This is why the corn starch bio-compostables are sometimes called PLA plastics. ✔ Compostable-Biodegradable plastics are called so because they are a step beyond just biodegradable. For a plastic to be considered compostable, it must meet certain criteria. For instance, it must decompose at the same rate as paper, and it must break down into harmless material such as water, carbon dioxide, or biomass (organic matter). ✔ Compostable plastic must not produce any t0xic substances as it decomposes! It must also break down to the point that it cannot be discerned or filtered out of the surrounding compost. PLA plastics cannot be recycled. They must be composted.

Son tan delgadas y biodegradables que las vamos a tirar
Queríamos amar el producto porque es lo que buscamos pero si existe algo como demasiado biodegradable, bueno pues es esto. No les ponemos orgánicos y aún así a los dos días se nos han dañado bolsas de abajo porque se desintegran. Son delgaditas y muy frágiles y son más pequeñas que otras bolsas de 13 litros… enfin, seguimos con otras marcas que si nos funcionan.

Stay Far Far Away
These are the worst compost bags I have ever purchased. Every second bag just rips down the side before I put anything in it. I don't know if I got a defective batch or what but they don't tear off right and they just slit down the side without anything even in them. Worst of all, if they get damp, which happens all the time with leftovers/coffee grinds, etc. they disintegrate within a day or so leaving a huge mess behind. You might as well not use any liner at all for all the good it does. Buy anything else, but don't buy these.

Unfortunately aren't for garbage or anything really
Really want to help the environment, but these bags rip way too easily, most of my bags need to be handled more carefully than a new born, I should have only bought 1 box (I bought 2) these are terrible for regular garbage, also if any liquid what so ever gets in, they disintegrate. Not sure what to do with them all now, but they are pretty much useless as garbage bags.

Bags fall apart quickly
Maybe I’m missing something here … these bags decompose while inside the bin defeating the purpose of having a compost inside the house. Huge mess to clean up 👍🏼
