3 friends find the Christmas spirit through a night of partying
The Night Before is a Christmas tale featuring three stoners. It starts with Santa narrating the story of Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) that started a tradition of partying with their friend Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) every Christmas after his parents were killed. As they grew older however they moved apart. Isaac married Betsy (Uillian Bell) and was about to have a baby. Chris became a professional football player. Ethan became a depressed loner after he lost his girlfriend Diana (Lizzy Caplan). They decide to go out one more time where everything goes terribly wrong before they go right. With these characters no one could foresee that this was a traditional Christmas fantasy story. In the end, the three find the true meaning of friendship and what it means to be together during the holidays. Along the way they meet an angel that brings up Christmas past present and future, and a real life grinch. If you don’t mind some stoners, the Christmas spirit, and some laughs this is a comedy for you.C

The worst, most stupid movie EVER!!!!
OMG! I want my $4 back! It is the worst movie I have ever watched, the worst! Boring as hell, so stupid! Can’t believe there are these many famous faces in it. Are these people broke or something, why would they want to be part of such dumb movie? I can’t stand his movie, I am writing this review before it is even finished playing.Again, the worst movie, not other movies could beat this. Sooooo bad!!

They provide important emotional support and beneficial friendship to each other especially each Christmas season. An opportunity comes up for the men to attend an important event together that might be their final chance to get together for Christmas season because of multiple events happening across various parts of their lives. Lizzy Caplan, Mindy Kaling, Jillian Bell, Michael Shannon etc are among the multiple other players in the Night Before film who play a pivotal role in the lives of the three men (Ethan Miller, Isaac Greenberg, Chris Roberts) in some way.

It was better than I expected.
Definitely geared towards people on good stone or shrooms. Blazed a couple fatties of killer chron's, sat back, & enjoyed. This movie is pretty goofy. It has some cute moments. Almost gets deep but stays lighthearted. I got a lot of good laughs out of it. Probably wouldn't have been half as funny if I weren't baked. I personally think Seth Rogen's stuff is kinda hit or miss but he killed it in this."I love you dragon", I bout fell out.

A Funny Adult Christmas Comedy
My boyfriend and I saw this in theaters and thought it was laugh out loud funny. It's not some groundbreaking cinematic wonder or anything, but its entertaining, with great adult humor, a complete and believable plot, funny characters, and some great star cameos. My boyfriend wanted to watch this again for Christmas this year so I purchased the HD digital download from Amazon. After all, it's Christmas! I imagine it will end up on Netflix or HBO in a couple of years but I love hearing my boyfriend laugh and feel like this purchase will be worthwhile if we watch it once a year around Christmas time. This will be a new classic for us!

Funny stuff right here!
Funny stuff right here! It's really hard to find a really funny movie anymore. This one was pretty good!! It didn't disappoint. I am always hoping for more laughs but this has a great cast. The story, although serious and heartfelt, takes a very funny and lighthearted turn. It's good to see men in roles where they show emotion, but then again the only way a movie can get a way with that is by making it comedy. I love Joseph Gordon Levit and Seth Rogan they are brilliant actors. I though Tracy Morgan would have a bigger role, but he is just the narrator. Overall I will watch it again. I don't think I would suggest it to my family and friends to rent it for $5. Even though it is a 48 hr rental. It is just a very high price for a movie rental in my opinion.

Awesome movie!
This movie is hilarious. Warning: This movie contains lots of drug use, sex, swearing, and is not racially/gender sensitive. Basically 3 guy friends go out every Christmas Eve as part of tradition. This Christmas though, Seth Rogan's wife is pregnant so it will be his last time having a wild Christmas Eve night with the other 2 guys. To make up for it Seth Rogan's wife gives him a box of every drug out there. Weed, crack, coke, and so on. Well, you can imagine that makes the night interesting. The guys get in fights, bar hop, and end up at a crazy party where Miley Cyrus is performing. Expect lots of stars to popup throughout the movie...James Franco, Mindy Kaling, Jilian Bell, etc. Hilarious movie and great for any time of the year.

Offensive, Want a Refund
Didn't watch more than 15 minutes. Want a refund. Way to much different, dark, drug stuff (not advertised), and my brother OD'd. So. Such a bad time I quit this movie early.

An excellent slice of Christmas chaos
As lewd and crude as this certainly is, it's leapt straight onto my list of festive favourites. An adult take on the Christmas flick tradition that brings plenty of laughs, festive spirit(s) and a few nods to classics of years gone by.The premise is beautifully simple - three best friends have an Xmas tradition of getting together and hitting it hard and fast on the streets of New York City. Now they're at a time of their lives where perhaps, for different reasons, they need to move on and let the tradition end - some may be more willing to let go than others. It's time for one last night of chaos and mayhem which will involve loving, fighting, drugs, karaoke, Midnight Mass, James Franco and much more. And it's brilliant almost every step of the way.Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Mackie and Seth Rogen are our central trio and they're all excellent alongside several satisfying supporting efforts from other familiar faces. Rogen probably nicks the MVP honours in a drug addled tour de force performance. Alongside the chaos and carnage there's just enough heart to fit the bill - you can't really have a proper Xmas flick without at least a little heart.Perhaps not to everyone's taste for a Christmas classic but it ticked all the right boxes for me. Top stuff.

The Night Before follows the current tradition of a Christmas party comedy, except this one is just as bland as the others.
The Night Before follows the current tradition of a Christmas party comedy, except this one is just as bland as the others. Really? Why? Why must we have these every year? We've seen one, therefore we've seen them all. This time around we follow three best friends as they party on the night before Christmas. That is it. There is no more context. Sure some weed is stolen, phones are swapped and a karaoke session is performed...but it's just a party. Christmas is a time of reflection. It is a holiday to be spent with loved ones, cherishing all the little idiosyncrasies that friends and family share. But apparently in Hollywood, Christmas is about snorting cocaine, consuming shrooms and fulfilling a joyous night with plenty of regret. However, before you discard me as the local Grinch, I did find this watchable. The narrative does include your typical comedic structure. Main characters have fun, something happens, they fight, they make up. But it's executed in a way where it feels, dare I say, intelligent? No no, I take that back. Let's face it, the cameos and film references is what makes this work. James Franco flirting with Seth Rogen's character is somewhat humorous. Who can top that? Miley Cyrus. You bring in the 'good girl gone bad' popstar to sing "Wrecking Ball". That's how you do it. I actually found her funny. *sigh*...what's wrong with me? The cast was somewhat interesting. Seth Rogen having the most experience steals the limelight, Anthony Mackie and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were just there as a side show. And why oh why oh why is Michael Shannon in this? Why? He's better than this (although he played his role with conviction). The countless film references were horrendous. Die Hard, Home Alone, Big and even The Great Gatsby. Sure this comedy felt Christmassy, but it's just another generic party-a-thon. I feel like I've questioned myself as a film reviewer, why do I put myself through these when I know I won't like them? I guess it's that small glimmer of hope that it might actually break tradition and be memorable. Nope, this isn't it.

Seth Rogen doing what he does best! One to watch!!
Great holiday movie with A twist. Hilarious antics of 3 grown men who relive their youth with great results. If you love Seth Rogen then this is a must.Back story of being good at xmas but don't let this put you off.A hidden gem of a film. But I personally wouldn't pay more than £5 as its not a number one style movie. But don't let that out you Off. But it now and enjoy some light hearted comedy at its best!!!
