Himalayan Dog Chews -Medium (Pack Of 5)

These last forever (not really, but for a very long time). My dog loves them, and they seem to be pretty healthy.

I have been buying these for three years now and just now realized I have never reviewed them.When I first purchased, they were for my now deceased, but much loved 15 year old pug. He just loved them. Even with his aging mouth, he could get his teeth on these and suck and chew away. But it isn’t him that REALLY took to them, it is my now 2 1/2 year old female pug, Nutmeg. She has been chewing on one chew per week since she was appx 12 weeks old. She absolutely adores them. Not all the time and not every minute, but enough that if I open one on Monday, by Sunday it is pretty much gone. She has moments where her chew instinct goes into high gear and at that point nothing else will do. I like them because she chews them slowly enough that I don’t have to worry about the calories (pugs are famous for pudge so I am always keeping an eye on her weight) and because they don’t smell bad or leave stains. In my family they really are considered to the perfect chew. I don’t know if every dog will go for them, but for the ones that do, I literally don’t have another product to review that I would or could ever review higher.

Both of my dogs love these and they are one of the only things that keep them busy for more than an hour. Sometimes these will even last days if the dogs aren't feeling particularly aggressive that day. Just please, PLEASE supervise your dog. If your dogs are anything like mine they chew it down to a nub and try to swallow it. Once they get it down to around 2 inches I take it away, soak it in warm water for about an hour, pop it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds and it puffs up to a cheesy smelling treat that they can finish off without any problems. Just be careful when taking them out of the microwave because they get super hot and need to cool down a bit. My one complaint about these is how expensive they are, especially if you have more than one dog.

Our dog Coco loves these and so do we. We have a mixed breed Shih Tzu who seems to quickly chew through just about anything we buy within minutes. However he chews on these off and on for at least a week or more. Nothing stinky about these as they almost have no scent to us. Coco is almost 4 years old now and the last time I took him to the vet she said his teeth looked really great. She said most dogs teeth don't look as good as Coco's at 4 years old. She wanted to know what I did. I told her I don't do anyting and the only thing I could think of was that I give Coco one of these chews once or twice a month!

This is the treat my dog gets about 95% of the time. Something else only once in awhile. These last a long time for my 29-pound shepherd, up to a couple of weeks, since he doesn't just chew and chew for hours every day. I read all I could about these cheese chews and believe they are a reasonably healthy treat for when his organic dinner is over. He is very happy with his chews and does not cry for bites of cookies or candy that might be on the kitchen counter for days.

My dog loves these chews. They’re good for dogs that chew through other types of pet store chews. But just be sure to take it from them when it gets tiny. They can swallow it and it made my dog sick. I didn’t take it away from him in time. Just something to keep in mind.

We needed something for our puppy to chew that would distract her, and divert her attention when her behavior was notacceptable or destructive. She loves your product, and it helps us reward her when that is our goal or change her inacceptable behavior when that is needed.
