Orrington Farms Turkey Flavored Gravy Mix, 8 Ounce

I got tired of not being able to find anything at the stores besides packets and liquid au jus. The flavor is strong and the price is great for what you get. I no longer use anything but this!

I have been looking for a gluten free white / country gravy mix for awhile to keep in the pantry, as one of my kids has an allergy to gluten. This was exactly what I was looking for! The plastic container is perfect for keeping the contents fresh after opening, and this is very helpful since we only make about 1-2 servings at a time from this, saving the rest for another date. The flavor and texture is good, although we do add black pepper to ours, to kick up the spice and flavor just a little. It is a little pricey for gravy mix, but this just seems to be the nature of most gluten free products. I will be purchasing this again, for sure, despite the premium price.

Fried our first turkey this year, still needed gravy. This was great. a bit salty, but all gravy bases are.

When you are in a pinch, this gravy will be a great substitute for the real thing. Quick, easy and economical.

There are so many things that are great about this gravy mix. First off you can really taste the turkey flavor. Second the texture is lovely. Most GF gravy mixes are gluey or a generic poultry flavor. This is none of those things. It is also very easy and quick to make. Having multiple Celiacs in our family traditional Thanksgiving sides can be a challenge. This will forever be our thanksgiving gravy.

We mixed a batch with distilled water. It made a smooth mix when stirred and boiled. Texture was gravy-like and OK. Flavor was very good. However, it was too salty for our tastes.I also tried making a batch with 2% milk. It would not dissolve in milk. Not a good idea.

I’ve been using Orrington Farms products for awhile now since needing to go GF. They taste great and you get many servings per container so I think the price is fair. You can also typically find it cheaper in the grocery store store. My husband is not GF and likes it, can’t tell the difference. I’ve tried their beef gravy mix, turkey gravy mix, and chicken broth base and seasoning (which I use as a GF chicken bouillon). All were really good.
