Customize before giving it to cats
There were a few things I needed to do to get this cat-approved:- remove one ball so the one reminding can circle around- remove the item contained within the ball. The ball and catnip filling dragged the ball speed down and made it stall (an extra noisy).If you do these things, you get a more simple, visually pleasing toy that your cat will enjoy

Not for cats who like to catch their 'prey'
My cat played with it a lot the evening I set it up. But once he figured out that he isn't going to catch the balls, his interest waned.Also, the balls are SUPER noisy.Overall the toy looks great, is well made and would probably work for lazier cats. Mine is a hyper 5-month-old who prefers to play chase and catch his toys.

Great size but the balls it came with are awful. Cats really like it now that I found better balls. Definitely overpriced.
Love the idea of this scratcher. My cats like it but they hate the weird, jingle balls that came with it. The balls are very noisy and designed to have dimples in the surface which means they don't roll well at all and definitely not smoothly like they should for a toy like this. The cats won't go near it with those balls. So I had to find the right size ball to fit inside. Now they love it. I wish the cardboard insert was deeper so that you could flip it over once one side is destroyed. It is single sided. It would be nice if for the price, you received a spare insert and decent balls. Overpriced for what it is but they do like it now that I've found a better ball.
