Works perfectly for the Paulk Smart Bench
I bought this as suggested by Ron Paulk for the Paulk Smart Bench. It fit perfectly and works great! I did plug the 3/4” holes and drilled new 20mm holes at 96mm spacing to match the bench top.

Good value, sturdy, but …
My work bench top is 1-3/4” thick so I chose to route the bottom of my bench top to 1-1/2” where it was to be installed. I used two 1/4” lag screws at the back end of the mounting plate. The holes on the front of the mounting plate don’t let you use a lag screw or a screw with a washer.I have several issues: the front mounting holes don’t let you use lag screws or washers - the holes should provide more clearance; the phillips screws provided to mount the wood jaw are cheap and easily strip out the phillips slots; but worst is the wood handle - it’s not threaded so you have to glue it on (the instructions ignore this fact & I hope I don’t have to take it off).

Good solid vise that’s pretty easy to install
Overall, I’m happy with this vise and it meets my needs. I installed it on a new work bench and the installation was very easy - drill 3 holes in your bench face for the guide rails and screw, secure with 6 screws. You do have to disassemble the vise but it’s very simple. It takes less than an hour. The jaw throat in this vise is about 4 1/2 inches, so take that into consideration when drilling dog holes into your bench top. I spaced mine 4 inches apart and that works fine. You do get some racking when clamping on just one side (this happens with round guide bar vises vs square). You can use a block in the other side of the vise to minimize this issue. At first, I was a little concerned that the mounting screws seemed a bit undersized. Once you install all of the screws though, the vise is very solid. I don’t expect any issues. Remember this is made to clamp wood, not steel.Overall I believe this vise is a very good value and meets my needs. Please note the blue bench dogs in the vise and not included.

Good first vice
Good basic vice for beginner woodworker. It does rack easily when holding a piece on just one side of the clamp. To be expected from a single screw vice at this price point though. Just put a piece of scrap that is slightly smaller on the other end of the jaw to counter balance the pressure and your good to go.
