Q: How many sticks are in the package?

There is approximately 300 in the package. The box is sold per weight not quantity.

Q: Will these work with 1/8" aluminum??

No. For Aluminum you need inerting gas. Best is TIG, but MIG will also work if you have the right wire feed attachment.

Q: Are the Hobart 6013 capable of vertical down?

Yes, Hobart 6013 is capable of welding vertical down. It is recommended to use higher amperage and faster travel speeds to stay ahead of the puddle

Q: will these work on galvanized?

The 6013 rod will work on galvanized steel but there are things you need to do to make it work safely and effectively. First the galvanizing should be ground off in the area to be welded. If not removed the galvanizing will melt and mix with the weld as it cools causing a weaker weld. Grinding the area to be welded free of the galvanizing solve this issue. Most important is good ventilation! Welding on galvanized gives off zinc oxcide fumes are very dangerous. Check out you tube for ways to do it safely. 6013 is a good rod and Hobart makes a good product.
