OTC(7654A) Serpentine Belt Installation Tool

Q: Folks, Is this good for transverse engines with very tight pulley to frame clearances? Also, if yes, what else did you use apart from this tool?

Basically, I just used this tool. However, I did not use it on a sideways engine, but I have worked on many four cylinder sideways engines and I believe that it would definitely be an asset. When I replaced belts on these engines, I did it mostly with my hands working from top and bottom. I think the tool would be a benefit to your tool box

Q: Will this work on a 2005 Buick LaCrosse

It is a rather generic tool when it comes to applications. If the vehicle has a belt, it will work on it.

Q: How does having 3 prongs work better than one with 2 prongs?

For me it retains the belt a lot better, especially in tight spaces.
