It is available in 1, 2, or 3 feet lengths. I purchased the 3' length. It is all thread.

Hello. 3/8 is the OSD. To be more specific, 3/8"-16 is the size of the thread that is on the steel rod that is 12" long. If you find a nut with a 3/8"-16 thread, this steel rod will go inside that nut.
