Hydrofarm HGWT Electronic Water Timer, Black and Green

This water timer does work. The first time you set the frequency and run time, the thing doesn't come on. For instance, if you set the frequency to 6 hours, and run time to 20 minutes, you literally have to wait 6 hours before it first starts watering, instead of coming on right away to run for the initial 20 minutes. After you first install it, run it manually by turning the run time knob to 'On' and let it run for however long you desire. After you shut it off, set the frequency and the run time. I still gave it 5 stars in spite of this feature (or rather, design flaw). Overall, it does work as it should.

I've been looking for a timer for my rain barrel for a long time and finally I find one, Made in China! I'm impressed with the simplicity of the product and it works. The US brand name companies have products with a back flow preventer, so don't work with rain barrels. I would suggest that the product packaging be modified to say: "Do not connect to portable water supplies, no back flow preventer". There is also a green light indicator, that comes on when the batteries are getting weak. Normally, we see green as meaning something good. Maybe the light could be made amber or red color. I like that it uses AAA batteries, as those are cheaper than 9-volt batteries.

The only downfall to this water pump are the plastic threads I needed a adapter to properly fit the inlet of the water timer the outlet would not thread to plastic PVC or any type of plastic piping had to use metal adapter!!! It uses zero pressure to operate which is great most timers need at least 9 PSI is runs perfectly off of my rain barrel it can only be set to run once a day I split my output stop the rain barrel into two outputs and run each timer once a day at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. they seem to work good no problems get my setup is watertight and leeks zero it did take a lot of work to make the watertight happen but if you are looking for a water timer that uses zero pressure this is it

This didn't work and appeared broken upon receipt. I had high hopes as I needed a timer that didn't require water pressure to work and had tried two others before this. After equipping with batteries, it produced a loud motor grinding noise, after that, anything I did (insert and remove batteries, press all the buttons, wait hours etc (I followed all the directions in the pamphlet) produced no LED light, function or indication that this thing was doing anything at all. The manufacturing feels pretty flimsy/barebones as well though if it had worked I wouldn't have minded at that.

I purchased this product because it came up as good for low pressure drip systems. While the product description itself does not claim that, I ran into a review stating that it works with low pressure. Well, not for me. I know the height of my setup is sufficient because another product I had last year ran the whole 25 feet distance. This product barely makes it to the first 10 feet. Also, the cover is very loose and can be opened by wind. I fixed this by attaching a rubber band around the device.Pros: Good timer, easy to useCons: Not for low water pressure (i.e., water barrel), weatherproof doubtful.Overall, not recommended if you need to run a drip system using water barrels and gravity. Should work OK when connected to a water faucet. This is the reason why I am not returning it. I can always use a spare for my sprinkler system.

Tired of aged two B-hyve Smart Hose Faucet Timers with Wi-Fi Hub (that have complex software control with many features I never used, in addition the need for frequent battery replacement) - I was looking for something simple. I am very happy with two Hydrofarm HGWT Electronic Water Timers. The setting is intuitive without manual. Probably it is not possible to make it simpler. There is no setting for a clock so as a consequence if you like to start watering each day in particular time then you should do setting in that time. It is no problem for me. I like it and I recommend it for everyone looking for simplicity. Time will show how it is reliable.

Worked great for a couple months. Changed batteries every other week. Now it won’t do anything with fresh barriers. Green light flashes. But stays on closed position no matter the setting

Me parece un buen producto, sería mucho más útil si pudiera programarse en cualquier horario, es decir, si deseas programarlo para las 6:00 am la primera vez que vas a programarlo es necesario levantarse a las 6:00 am.

This unit seems to have solved a problem that I had with a timer of a different design which required a minimum water pressure to actuate fully. I am watering indoor plants from a small reservoir with only head pressure from gravity for water delivery. The mechanism seems to work perfectly in this situation. So far, so good.

working great so far, only down side is what ever time you set it at you have to wait until the next time for it to turn on."set for every 12 hours" on Monday 6 pm, it will not turn on until Tuesday at 6 am.But other then that little thing has been great.

El compartimiento de las baterías es un poco débil y hay que protegerlo de la lluvia. colocando cinta de Teflon se aisló sin problema. A un mes de haberse instalado ha funcionado sin problemas.
