Medieval Art

Stokstad is a well known art history author and she doesn't disappoint here either. I had to use this as a textbook for a Medieval Art class. Lots of pictures, lots of words, but that's what I expected and would be disappointed otherwise from Stokstad if it were any other way.

for schol. but i didnt use it cause im lazy and i almost failed my course. the books in the page are beautiful. beautiful illustrations. the language describing the arts were really easy to understand.good boook, really surprised by quality. good buy

This was an easy read which is not so common in art history textbooks. The pictures were easy to scan and research. I liked that the history was given to the reader in a way so that you don't have to re-read and ponder over every paragraph thinking "WHAT?!"... I'm keeping it as my future reference for any medieval art I come across.

Wonderful, gives enough historical background to a complex period to make the topics addressed very understandable, even to the non-scholarly reader. Great illustrations. Kudos to Ms. Stokstad.

My daughter needed this for her class. She got it quickly and said it was in good shape for the price.

I got this textbook for school and it came out alright. However, I never really got to read it as much because of time constraints with my other classes, so it felt useless just having it.

I am stuck reading this for class. But for a textbook it is a decent read and the writer does well in getting the topic across to the reader.
