MegaConstrux American Girl Grace's 2-in-1 Buildable Home

My granddaughters love playing with this set. They are too little to build, so I did built it myself and they play with it when they come over. Having built big Lego sets with thousands of pieces, I had the experience and what was needed to organize all the pieces before I started building. This set does not come in numbered bags like Lego sets, which can result in lost pieces since you’ll end up having all the bags open at once and it will take more than one sitting to build. I have a plastic bin with with a latching lid that has sorting trays in it (or you could use separate plastic containers with lids) and I sorted the pieces by type and color and I kept the tiny pieces, like the round dots or one 1x1 tiles in their own container regardless of color. I figured this method out when my kids got into building LEGO and would need to stop building in the middle of a numbered bag. I got tired of hurting my feet, stepping on LEGO pieces left on the floor and hearing kids moan and groan about missing pieces. So to me, the fact that the bags weren’t numbered did not upset me like it did many other purchasers. If you know to be prepared, you and your child will have a better experience building what is a cute, enjoyable set.

Ordered this for my daughter for Christmas. All the Lego sets at the stores were sold out. I liked this one because it was a house and came with little characters and it was cheaper than the Lego brand. My sister and I helped her put it together. The instructions weren't as clear as Lego brand but they weren't terrible. The only thing I will say that was really aggravating is they don't separate the parts in segments like Lego does, there didn't seem to be any method to how the parts were seperated. We had to open all the bags and try to sort them ourselves.

I got this as a christmas gift for my 8 year old girl. It was a fun activity to do tigether over the break from school. It did take her 2 days of working on it. The little details are so cute. The lego girls are much bigger then regular lego figures but may more adorable with rubber dresses and hair.I got this for $35 when usually it's lime $60 or $70 so I feel for that price it is very much worth it.The only complaints I have about it is sometimes the bricks didn't fit together well without a lot of forcing it, making it harder for a child to do themselves without it all falling apart. Another complaint is the bricks were not organized by the room of the house you were working on. You had to dump ALL the pieces together and figure out what goes where and search for pieces a little more but overall a really cute piece!

So cool and fun! Cute details, but my daughter had trouble snapping the pieces together! Much harder to assemble, but... She loved it so much that she still asked for more sets like it!

My nine year old daughter absolutely loves this. It did take some help from an older brother to put together but the details are so much fun. She plays with this pretty much every day.

I bought this set to put it together for my daughter, much to complicated for her to put together herself. While it was frustrating it was well worth the time it took to put it together to see her reaction. She instantly fell in love with it and plays with it daily.Be prepared to take some Time though in putting this set together, well over 1.5 hrs and definitely put the pieces in containers to sort through or your screwed. For the price you also cannot find an equal for Lego brand.

This house is built upon a thousand curse words whispered from the mouths of parents across the country. The salty tears of little girls are the mortar between the bricks. This is not like Lego Friends kits. The pieces really don't snap together as easily. Some will be fine, but others will leave you muttering, pounding the bricks, and wishing you were never born as your daughter dries her tears and looks at you with hopeful expectation for five straight minutes of struggle. Then, it will suddenly snap into place. Additionally, the parts are spread across the bags with no rhyme or reason (not numbered like Lego Friends), and there are many many bags. You will need to open almost all of them in the first ten steps. Then you will have a bunch of open bags of parts precariously perched on your table. They will fall over, and pieces will go dancing across your floor. When you have finished, you and your child will agree that you are never taking this thing apart to build the other thing. If you have something with many compartments for sorting, I suggest just opening all bags and sorting like pieces from the start.

My daughter got this set for Valentine’s Day and started it last night and finished it today all on her own. She’s 7 years old and has done many LEGO sets. She said this one had some hard parts, mostly because she couldn’t find pieces she was looking for. But she kept at it, and it turned out awesome! I took one star off because the mega blocks are a bit harder to snap together compared to real Legos. See pics for size. It’s a nice big set for around $30. Good value in my opinion.

My daughter received this as a christmas present. She loves Lego and was so excited to put it together until she started missing pieces. There is a number of bags missing from this set. It is an expensive lego set- you would think all the pieces would be in it. Extremely frustrating and disappointing.
