Louisville Slugger Intermediate PG Series 5 Catchers Set

We purchased this set for our son as a birthday gift. He just turned 12. He plays baseball year round in leagues of 10-12 year olds. He has been wanting to focus on developing his skills as a catcher. We think this set is very well priced. We took measurements according to product guidelines and our son's measurements are in line with the product's suggestions. The set needed a lot of adjusting to fit properly. The chest pad has lots of room for growth and the shin guards are a bit long. The helmet needed quite a bit of adjusting to be able to come off our son's head quickly. After all the adjustments our son says this set fits really well. He has used it for 2 months now. We researched safety and material construction guidelines for youth catcher's gear and this set fits them all. Very well made and we are very pleased with this purchase.

My 10-11 year old players that were average to above average height wore this well. It gets beat up in a hurry, but that's expected. It looks sharp and does the job well.There were two things they could improve. First, a throat guard is needed to get Little League compliant. Second, the elastic on the bottom half of the helmet was short. There wasn't enough material there for me to loosen the mask to the point where it was easily taken on an off. I had to buy a roll of 1 inch elastic to fix it.

I purchased for my 10 year old daughter who looks like a 12 year old. It was perfect for her. The helmet pads are a little hard and she complained that it hurt her, at first she only wore the helmet for 10 minutes. I pulled the elastic all the way to the end and made her wear it for practice. After a few practices she no longer complains. She has used it now for a few tournaments about 15 games and no problems at it. She looks sooo good in it.

As inexpensive youth catcher's gear go, we've had the best luck using the Louisville Slugger PG sets for our 9-month rec baseball season (we play 3 seasons back to back). The gear holds up for about 2 years before starting to need replacing. In the time we've used this particular set, two other teams in our organization had to replace helmets (Eastons) due to broken pieces (snaps and a fastener that secures the cage). The shin guards take the most beating, but they're still usable.

Very good kit for my 10 year old son. The colors match his team (Orioles) and everything but helmet fits perfectly. The helmet sizing seems a little small compared to other brands he has worn with same size range. We are happy with the purchase.

My son LOVES this equipment by Louisville. He is just turning 12 years old and is about average height and weight. The set is a tiny bit big for him but that means he will get another year out of it. It looks sharp and is put together well. We are both very happy. This is the first catcher's gear set that he has owned.

Surprisingly great quality gear for the price. Unfortunately, the helmet was too small and we had to return it. Baseball Bargains was great to deal with, especially Evan, their Amazon representative.

Fit great on skinny 12 year old. He used the MacGregor Junior up through last year but instead of getting the MacGregor Youth, we chose this one due to it having the hockey style helmet. This is a good set, and the shoulder and crotch extension are great.

Excelente producto a un excelente precio. Las protecciones de hombro y la de la parte inferior se desprenden. Tienen velcro, por si se quisiera mayor movimiento o aligerar un poco el peso, que no creo que sea mucho. Lo compre para mi hija de 13 años. Ella mide como 1.56 m.
