Excellent value, decent quality
The media could not be loaded. tldr: Great keyboard for the price. Consider replacing the keycaps for a better feel. Video shows the different lighting modes.I always scoffed at the other programmers who were so insistent on using mechanical keyboards. I'd tried them, and sure they felt good, but I thought my old keyboard felt good enough. Well, they were right. After buying a tenkeyless 75% mechanical keyboard to use on the go, I found myself hating my old keyboard at home. Enter the Velocifire VM01.Yes, I bought this keyboard because I'm cheap. When I got the keyboard, I was a little worried about the feel of the switches. The tenkeyless board I bought felt amazing to type on, it was an also an offbrand cherry brown switch, so I figured this keyboard would feel similar. But, things don't always work out as we think they will. The keys are quiet and provide the tactile feedback as you press them down. However, the action felt a bit different; not awful, but it left me wanting.Another annoyance I had, was the feel of the keycaps; they don't have a good texture to them so they feel very slick. However, I had bought a set of yellow rosewill keycaps for $13 to replace a couple keys on my tenkeyless (just for aesthetics). I figured I would try swapping the keys and give this keyboard another chance. I am glad I did! The keycaps were having a noticeable impact on how the switches felt. Now I have a keyboard that feels great! Unfortunately, the yellow keycaps don't look great with the blue light, but I care more about the feel. So, that leaves us with the features of the board. First, it's pretty hefty. I would not want to carry it with me anywhere, but that isn't an issue on my desk and it feels very durable. The lighting looks really good (if you have the right keys). The settings for the lighting are decent for the price. I rather like the waterfall effect when the speed is turned down. There's 3 brightness settings for each mode: off, medium, and bright. The media hotkeys are pretty convenient and are easily accessed once you get used to the location of the function key.Overall, I would definitely recommend this board to anyone looking to buy their first mechanical keyboard, or just a budget keyboard to be used on another machine. If you replace the keycaps, it feels just as good as the more expensive boards.

A great entry level FULLY mechanical keyboard for under $40
As the title states this an entry level mechanical keyboard, priced slightly higher than near-premium membrane keyboards. I liked the price so much that I went on a whim and decided to replace the office keyboards with this specific keyboard. It has a softer tealish type backlight that is not harsh with low level lights like I have seen with other keyboards. It also has a more helvetica type font that is more business appropriate vs the gameresque fonts seen on other keyboards. As an owner of 3 different official cherry switch types (TT E-Sports Poseidon with browns, and blues, and a K70 RGB with reds) I will state that these keys feel similar to cherry browns, a bit lighter on the tactile bump, and keypress, not too much lighter, but I was able to notice itAll in all I would recommend this keyboard to anybody interested looking to dive into a mechanical keyboard, it sure beats spending $90+ on something that you may or may not like, all the while letting you feel the precision of the mechanical switch.Almost neglected to mention that these key caps are VERY HIGH quality, my K70 key caps were not as high of quality, also they send a plastic key puller with EVERY keyboard as an added bonus.I have shown the difference between my K70 RGB key and this VM01 key cap, as well as the included puller

Keyboard worked fine for about 6 month[s]-UPDATE replacement working perfectly 1 year on
-----------------------------------------------------------Update: Nov 18th, 2018:As promised my long term update on the replacement Keyboard I received via the fantastic customer service of the seller. It's been a year almost to the day and I've been using this keyboard for many hours almost every day of that time. It's been working like a champ. I am very satisfied with the product and the seller. The only problem is I've been so spoilt by this fantastic mechanical keyboard I find it a pain to use client's cheapo keyboards now during site visits :-). I guess this "problem" speaks to the good quality of this great product. I'd buy this product from this seller again in a heartbeat!-----------------------------------------------------------Update: Nov 15th, 2017:I have adjusted the review to reflect the fact that about 2 to 3 weeks after typing the original review the seller contacted me via Amazon and expressed apologies for the malfunctioning keyboard. They said it was probably a bad unit and volunteered to send me another one. This was pro-active on their part which impressed me. I clicked the link on the Amazon email to accept the offer but due to a miscommunication with re-seller I didn't know I had to resend shipping information etc. Fast forward another 2 weeks; the seller contacts me directly this time and requests the shipping information. I give it and within 2 days or so the replacement keyboard is on its way. As a senior consultant my times and locations are highly variable so yesterday I received the keyboard in my hands and hooked it up. It works great as expected (the first was fantastic for the few months it worked). I am updating this review from 1 to 3 stars just due to the customer service of the vendor which I found fantastic. I didn't ASK for a replacement even though it was under warranty, thinking it was a "live and learn" experience. Also the fact that I literally make my living with my keyboard and mouse means both have to be reliable! However the seller's proactive contact and then further contact shows this seller is serious about customer service (maybe Amazon's super fantastic service is rubbing off on some of its sellers :-) ) and that in itself is something I can't give a seller a 1 star review on. I will update this review if the product fails again or if a significantly longer time passes and it still works. If the keyboard lasts it is by far and away a steal of a deal.------------------------------------------------------------Keyboard worked fine for about 6 month. Just an hour ago the "s" key topped working. I've never had a brand new keyboard fail like this in over 30 years of PC use. Stay away. I'm writing this email on it using the onscreen keyboard for "s". This is completely unacceptable for a keyboard of this cost. A junk membrane keyboard has easily outlasted this on this very PC with even more use. I took out the key checked the switch was clean, rebooted 3 time and deleted all the keyboard driver about 10 time to no avail. This seem to be a hardware failure with the keyboard itself. The manual has no reset code and has no solution.

Good, but not great.
Reasonably heavy, sits on the desk and doesn't move which is good. Was slightly disappointed by the size of the keycaps, felt the landing area could have been a bit bigger. Action is nice, and noise from switchgear about what I'd expect/like. It may annoy people around you - but you expect a mechanical keyboard to be somewhat noisy, I though this was just where you'd want it. The price is reasonable at 45gbp. That said, I'm not sure I'd buy another - it's not as good as mechanical keyboards of old (I'm going back a long way though, ie late 80s)

Not a UK model
Pain as it's not UK. Shall I return or try to buy replacement keys?

Solid mechanical keyboard (UPDATED: Wireless now works)
This is my first mechanical keyboard. My friend kindly lent me her mechanical keyboard to try out and I fell in love with the tactile feel of the mechanical keyboard. I knew that I wanted a full sized keyboard, and I very much prefer one that is wireless. It wasn't that easy to find a wireless full sized mechanical keyboard that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, but this purports to be it. Even better, it is in white which fits the colour scheme of my home office set-up. The keyboard is awesome (and because it uses brown switches, quieter than the one I borrowed from my friend which makes this much more suitable for zoom calls), but I am disappointed that I cannot seem to get the wireless function to work.UPDATE: I have figured out how to get the wireless function to work - there is a tiny little switch on the bottom of the keyboard, and I just needed to flip the switch from "off" to "on". This wasn't in the manual so I completely overlooked it.

Battery Life is Not Good
Compared to my Logitech wireless mechanical keyboard, the battery life on this keyboard is abysmal. You'll get a couple days of moderate use at best. With my Logitech I can get a couple weeks at least. I do like the form factor, weight (got some weight to it) and feel and sound of the keys. I think I may be jaded by the battery life of my Logitech :-)

Excellent price to value ratio
Pros: Excellent price to value ratio (bought it for $63.99 on 07/16/2018). One of the cheapest mechanical brown switch keyboard I could find on Amazon with positive reviews. No flex to the backplate. Feels rugged.Print seems to be laser etched onto the cap so nothing should rub off.Cons: The font has empty gaps in random letters/numbers and makes the layout look inconsistent.I cannot feel the tactile bump at all. Actuation force is quite low compared to the MX Cherry Blues I've been familiar with for the past 5 years.I know what MX Cherry Browns feel like and there is a noticeable difference between the switches on this keyboard and the Cherry's. However, this is what I expected when I purchased a "knock-off". Typing on it is still satisfying enough that I wouldn't knock any stars off for it.
