We love this brand
We bought 2 of the original single variety as seen on tv many years ago. Eventually one stopped working. We bout 2 more of a different brand and they hardly lasted 2 years. We still have one single nuwave that is starting to finally have a button issue. We decided to buy the dual and it's great. It is bulky though and we have to store it on the pantry floor under the bakery rack. It takes up alot of space. If it's your main cooking source you'd probably just keep it out.We had an electric range that we hated. We almost exclusively used the induction. It's easy to control the temp more like a gas range. Having the extra cook top when cooking for holidays allows for more help in the kitchen because you can move it anywhere. Which also makes it perfect for dorms or a guest house. It is not a hit plate so you don't have a burning issue with a hot top nor flame. We loved our originals so much that when we updated our kitchen we got an induction cooktop. But we still use the portable ones more because you can move them where you need them. Since we have a cutting board stove top cover on the built in, often times we use that area for prep space and just use the induction top. The larger isn't as convenient. But this is a fantastic product and if you leave it out and use it daily you will love it. We will be buying another smaller nuwave still to replace the smaller one for times when we don't need the 2 burners. But the brand is worth it and it's so fantastic that they make a 2 burner style. Again perfect for a guest house or maybe a finished basement or inlawnsuite with a small kitchen.

Love it, get the warranty.
Been using for 7 months, mostly awesome. The fan(s) runs (constantly) when the top is heating, I got used to additional noise quickly but this is a noticeable difference from electric/nat gas. The fans are about 1/4" above the counter surface, that combined with really fast heating times has resulted in boil over and fluid levels being very close to the operating fans; nothing bad has happened but made me nervous and now I pay better attention. The only aspect of the cooktop that concerns me (not too much as I got the extended warranty) is that, frequently, the highest setting option (sear) will not select when that button is pushed. This has happened on both sides and generally solves it self by turning the unit off and then on again. It's weird but has only happened to one burner at a time so it has never been too inconvenient for me.Any boil over or grease spill looks terrible because of the black high gloss surface, just FYI if you want it to look sparkly you will need to clean it/wipe it after every use.

Logo graphics in heating areas affect cooking feel
I got this on a whim to get experience with induction technology, and it's been great for that purpose. I have experienced some of the temperature control issues noted by others, but overall it has done its job of getting me experience before buying a permanent unit for a remodel. My biggest irritation with it is the logo graphics that are placed in the heating regions, specifically that they introduce too much friction when sliding cookware on the surface. (... and they serve no functional purpose other than to 'wave' the company name on product images here.) It feels and sounds like I'm sliding my polished stainless All-Clad on top of sandpaper compared to the non-imprinted glass areas. I've tried glass cooktop wax, polishing compounds (down to .5 micron diamond emulsions), and even tried to scrape them off with a razor blade - all to no significant improvement. (The razor blade couldn't get 'under' the graphics to remove them.) As a result, I'll likely end up minimizing my use of this unit when cooking things in pans where I need to toss the food around. This doesn't affect other cooking operations where the pot or whatever remains stationary and you do any needed manipulation with a spoon or something. It has pretty much convinced me that selecting an induction cooktop will be a reasonable choice vs. a gas rangetop... except for Wok cooking.

Brilliant, Fast, Attractive Cooktop
I have a tiny kitchenette in my retirement apartment that I am building for myself so that my son and his family can live in the main part of the house I own. I toyed with a full-sized stove, but ended up concluding I really did not need one. I have a single induction cooktop, but when I saw this 2-units in a single appliance, I was delighted. This unit is attractive, well made, works unbelievably quickly. I have used electric, gas, and now induction, and I love induction the best. One thing that initially stumped me for a minute is that there is an on/off switch at the back of the unit where the power cord takes off. When I first plugged the unit in, it did nothing. The quick-start guide did not mention the on/off switch, and the info was a couple pages into the main instruction book. It's nice that it can be turned off if you want, but it would be nice to know that right up front. I thought maybe my unit was defective for a minute. But once on, it is easy to use, works like a dream. Cooking is so much faster, and no doubt there will be a bit of a curve, but faster works for me. So far, I love it!!

NuWave Double Cooktop
Love this product and the 'Nu-Wave' name! I have had 2 single burners for 8 years. We have used them to the point that they were in need of replacement. I can prepare a whole meal on the double burner. It acts and heats up just like the single burner. I would buy the product again! Amazon was timely in telling me the package is on its way, but arriving late. I received it 1 day later than anticipated. Thank you Amazon for such reliability.
