Nova9027 Tool Rest Bar 6" / 150mm

i dont take on and off tool post. i just bought individual posts for each rest. it still comes out cheaper than buying a good 1 piece.

Purchased the 9027 tool rest bar and 9024 tool rest post. They look and feel great. The post i ordered was not square to the tool rest, so i contacted the company about the lifetime warranty and no questions asked sent me a new one. AWESOME!I recently switched to carbide scrapers and now this is too tall. Wont go down into the neck of my midi lathe enough to put the scarpers where they need to be. I kept the bar nice and smooth with paste wax which seemed to make the tools glide effortlessly.

This tool rest system is very good. The bar does still get knicked a little though and it also seems to absorb the vibration a little less efficiently than cast iron versions. It's a trade off between a tougher bar and less vibration. In the end though, these are my go to rests. It does not rotate on the post, I haven't experienced that at all.

Tool rest standard fits tight when first inserted into the banjo but once it’s down3/4Of an inch it’s just fine

Solid stable a work horse in my shop. Bead edge is smooth and round enough for great control. Relief on the finger side allows for great tool control on finer detail work. This should be a mandatory upgrade for any mini lathe... most importantly if you work in hard woods suck as wenge. You cast rest cannot handle a catch at working speed.

The top edge is very soft. A parting tool will knick the hell out of the surface and it your tap the tool rest with a tool it will dent. Constant dressing is required unless you treat it like an eggshell.

See my review of the NOVA 9025 tool rest post. Well made, small footprint to get closer to the work. Excellent construction and I like the smooth and hard bead on working surface.
