Really not impressed. Doesn't work like it should.
First, the instructions are meant for many applications. I get that - they need one SKU to work for lots of vehicles. That being said, they did not provide adequate instructions to figure out what configuration you need based on the different ways this can operate. Worth noting, I'm an electrical engineer. I only figured out my application based on process of elimination after reading the instructions for ALL applications and based on knowing the other instruction sets did not apply to me, I was able to get this installed correctly. Not impressed with the instructions. So, now that that's out of the way, let's talk functionality. It works..... sort of. I find that my radio is on a LOT of times when it shouldn't be. I only purchased this so I could keep my factory radio and have a remote turn on circuit for my external amplifier for my subs. That's the only function I needed from this product, and it does not work well for that. I'll explain. If I open my door and then take my key out, the radio stays on, which it shouldn't. If I get out and close the door, the radio and my amp are still on, drawing power from the battery. Since I live where it's -20 for extended periods of time each year, that's an issue.Often times if I want to keep listening to the radio, but want to save gas and turn the engine off, my radio will turn off as well. literally the exact opposite of Retained Accessory Power (RAP), as GM calls it. This module is supposed to take the vehicle serial communication and convert it to a remote on/off circuit without modifying the behavior of the factory radio, and it does not do that.Often times if I use my key fob to open the doors and grab something, and my back seat is folded down, I can see that my amp is powered up, even though I never even used the key. The amp is controlled by this product. So does it work? Sometimes. For something that has literally one function, and has been developed/available for almost 20 years, that's just not good enough. If it only had the issue of sometimes turning my amp on when it shouldn't, I probably wouldn't notice so often, but that's not the only issue.I installed this in a 2005 avalanche with the Bose stereo without navigation, with XM and rear seat audio.Worth noting: if you only need the remote wire for your amp on circuit, you own a silverado or avalanche AND you have a factory sunroof, then you should know that there's a circuit to hold "retained accessory power" for your sunroof feature, and you can tap into that circuit for your aftermarket radio or amp on signal without introducing these problems, and without spending money.

Great Product
95% out of 100 for me and the 5% is very minor! Perfect fit and connection for my "made for GMC (OEM)" Bose Audio system in my 05 Envoy. Delco P/N 15183817. I integrated an old Sentrek 80 X 80 Watt AMP and Pioneer 1000 Watt 10" Sub I had just laying around.Steering wheel controls still work perfectly and the AMP's integration went smooth as possible. They work great together. I'd love to replace the Bose and might do so at a later date. It doesn't play MP3 but does have a center console DVD for the Rear passenger. Now Movies just got better with the Sub.Instructions were OK with me but I already knew how to install. The problem I have is the Pink Wire used for sensing (Auto On) with the Blue wire on the System and the AMP is also tied into the Envoy's lighting system. So that every time I open the doors, the AMP comes on. Other gripes include; The RCA connector's wires could have been just a little longer. This so they could be reached or accessed without having to remove the Receiver. Maybe could have shipped with a Headphone connector or etc....Anyway, this is still easily a 5 star Item and I'm very happy with it. I would purchase this Item again if needed.

PAC Amp interface
I have an '06 Silverado with Bose factory stereo. This interface works as intended. But I gave it 4 stars because of two issues. After installing interface per instructions, I found out it still powers the amp from time to time while ignition is off. Worried about draining the battery, I connected the "remote" lead wire to a switched fuse in the fuse box. Wish that step was in the instructions.Another issue: it is fairly bulky. I also have an iPod interface. This amp interface, and all associated harnesses and wiring from both interface make a very tight fit behind the factory stereo head unit. Sure, Chevy could have engineered more room inside the dashboard. I literally stuffed everything back into the dash as best as i could, praying I wouldn't break anything. PAC could have used longer wires so the interface itself can be installed somewhere else.

Worked
It connects a amp to my 2005 suburban with onstar and no xm. loud thump when i turn on my car so i installled a toggel swtch onto the remote wire so after i start the truck then i tuen it on; it also gives me control where i can turn it on and off when i like. would give this 5 stars if it came with and AUX in, its not awesoem that we need a whole nother unit for a aux in when this device should have it. who cares about the front rca in!!!!! give us a aux cord in or make it blue tooth!!!!!

Works great, saves time and headache vs splicing.
I mean.. if you need it you need it and this works great for installing amp into my 06 Chevy with factory stereo.. ran RCA from this device to my amp and boom, bumps in the trunk. Imperfect fit into the back of my stereo and clips won't lock but.. has not wiggled loose, I'm happy.
