Perfect ending to a well-crafted series
After being disappointed with the incomplete feel of book four in this series, I was thrilled with the conclusion. I give it a strong 4.7 out of 5 stars. There were three different groups working behind the scenes of all the attacks, murders, and incidents that happened in book four. They all came to a head in one amazing battle - on several fronts. If you love Jack Swift (from The Warrior Heir) as much as I do, you'll be happy to see him in fine form helping to stem the flow of evil wizards. But the underguilds show that there are as many manipulators in their ranks, and the final outcome reveals the savants (mutants, Thorn Hill survivors, those with altered Weirstones) as the true heroes.I loved both Emma and Jonah, which is the only reason I finished reading The Enchanter Heir. They are center stage again in the book - on opposite sides? All of the secrets are revealed - most of them not surprising to me. The intricate way everything was interwoven made me nearly breathless as the final battle started peeling back all the layers.I think I might have enjoyed this better if I had reread the first three books. I have a feeling I missed some of the nuances in Leesha Middleton's POV scenes because it has been several years since I read the initial trilogy. If you like this series, you will love the way it gets wrapped up in this book. A couple sideline romances are always a nice touch, but I love that the mystery takes center stage.

Solid
This was an excellent addition to the Heir series and a great follow-up to the fourth in the set. It took up pretty much where the other left off, giving perspective from other characters. I was glad to see more of an intergration of characters from the first books in this one. I really enjoy Emma. She's young and terrified but determined to learn the truth about her past and how it can help change the future. Jonah and Kinsey are also excellent characters. Chima does a great job with character development. She has the ability to make you feel like you know and care for each person involved. I wasn't really surprised by the reveal of the truth, I had already figured it out when Lilith became more prominent. That didn't deter from the solid ending of this book. The ending was enough to leave the reader happy if this is truly the end of the Heir Chronicles, but potentially left it open enough (without big cliffhangers) if she opts to return to these characters. I think this is a great fantasy read for a variety of ages. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fantasy. I will continue to read books from Chima in the future.

Excellent: well worth the wait!
I have been a HUGE fan of this series for years, and I've loved every single book in the Heir series. The author said this was the final book in the Heir series - kind of like it's Swan Song so to speak, but I really hope that's not the case. There is still some unfinished business between Emma and Jonah - I'd really like to see a "Happily Ever After" for these two characters who have lost so much in their short lives. There is still enough fodder for one final book in this series to send it off good and proper: The Seer Heir. I would be the first to pre-order it from Amazon.com too. Five Weir guilds = five books, right? I think the fans if this series really deserve to have all the loose ends tied up good and tight before closure of this series forever. Even if we don't deserve it, no devoted fan would turn down the opportunity to read another book in this series, continuing the compulsively captivating story. I'm personally hoping Ms. Williams Chima will consider giving us one final gift: a 5th Heir book.

The book was soooooo good! It went above and beyond my expectations
The book was soooooo good! It went above and beyond my expectations. What I love the most about Chima's books is that even though there are multiple books in the series with a different character as the protagonist of the plot each time, Chima always keeps the reader interested in the new main character. Despite the fact that the former hero of the story often makes an appearance in a less important side role, the reader is able to acknowledge their presence without pining over their absence, and without it detracting the reader from the new protagonist. A good book depends on the skill of the author: their control of the text, their ability to predict the reactions and expectations, and the way in which they keep the reader guessing without making it too confusing that they can't follow, and without spelling it out for them too much. In all of these ways Chima excelled. Her book was a fantastic success; I can't wait until the next masterpiece she serves up.

The end to a great series
The book was very well written, though the editing was not first class. Or maybe it was the eBook copy. This book was exciting and feast paced, so you were willing to stay up all night to finish it, but I found that it ended kind of abruptly for the end to a series. Usually there is a hype and then the excitement ends but the prologue kind of really closes it off, but this book ended like the prologue was hurried unlike in the others, and made it fell more like there was going to be a continuation than it being the finale. I enjoyed all the same though and hope for more to come.

Great addition to the series
Great addition to the series! The series is captivating as a whole! The only reason I give the sorcerer heir a 4 star was because it foreshadowed to much and I started unwinding the events before they happened. So there was a lot of I knew it moments and not so much of a lot of plot twisting and a unexpecting climax to the story this time! But, Don't let this book fool you Cinda Williams Chima did a great job infusing new characters into the series, tying up some loose questions I had from previous books, and deepening the plot to push forward in this series as a whole. But, what's next?

The heir chronicles
Mes préférés ce sont les trois premiers: the warrior, the wizard, the dragon.
