Pefect for my Synology NAS
Can now send files from my PC to NAS at roughly 240Mbps compared to the 110Mbps limit with it's built in 1GBps port.

Works great on Ubuntu 22.04 no drivers required
Plugged in and it simply just works, no issues.Benchmarks at 3.71Gbits/s on iPerf which is as expected because it's limited by the USB3. I've had it running 24x7 for days, no issues with overheating or anything.

Does not work on an intel mac
The listing states this as being a 5gbps adapter and whilst it works at around 4gbps on a windows 10 laptop, my intel mac can only use this at 1gbps.Its been discontinued by sabrent and my email to them to ask for an updated driver was replied with 'if you have just bought this, return it for a refund'Doesn’t work at all on an m2 macSorry amazon, listed at 5gbps, nothing about only working at 1gbps on a mac, all it says is 5gpb adaptor compatible with mac os 10+Returned for a refund.

A Premium-Looking Adapter with Speed Limitations and Heat Concerns
Upon receiving the SABRENT USB C Ethernet Adapter, I was initially drawn to its premium metal casing, which doubles up as a heatsink. Promising speeds up to 5 gigabits per second, I was excited to see how this product would perform. In my testing, the maximum speed achieved was 3.2gb/s, or roughly 375MB/s when directly connected to my NAS that supports 10gb/s. After some research, I found out that devices using the Aquantia chip, including this one, have a hard limit of around 3.2gb/s due to certain USB overheads. Still, it offers a notable advantage over standard gigabit ethernet adapters.Regarding compatibility, the adapter works seamlessly with Windows, especially after installing the recommended driver. There's limited support for Linux and Mac systems. However, I found that it's incompatible with Android phones and the Steam Deck. Without the driver, I experienced frequent disconnections, which could potentially be related to the device's notable heat production. This device does get significantly warm, even hot enough to cause discomfort to the touch. A desk fan managed to mitigate the heat issue, but this might not be a feasible solution for everyone.I've been using this device for roughly a year. While it serves its purpose and offers better speeds than standard adapters, there are certainly areas for improvement. If possible, I would lean more towards an internal ethernet card, especially if portability isn't a primary concern. For the price of £71.98, it does the job, but potential buyers should be aware of the device's limitations.Pros:- Faster than standard gigabit ethernet adapters.- Premium metal casing that doubles as a heatsink.- Compatible with Windows (with driver).Cons:- Doesn't achieve the advertised 5gb/s speed.- Runs exceptionally hot.- Limited compatibility with Linux, Mac, Android phones, and Steam Deck.- Possible disconnection issues without the driver installation.

10GbE TB3 it works...
I won't complain too loudly, these things have been like gold dust for more than a year, especially at a decent price like this. It works with both my Macbook m1 and my Windows laptops... But I say buy with caution - they extremely hot, to the point that it can burn... far more than my other TB3 10GbE nic...

As described
Gives 2.5Gb as it says. I bought 3. Only minor challenge is that with one of them, when it's on the same USB hub as my WiFi mouse the mouse becomes a bit unresponsive, gotta find a different USB port somewhere, other than that all good, get fractionally warm but nothing untowards.

Works very well. Very happy.
Works very well. Very happy. I’ve been quite happy with a few sabre that products over the past couple years. I kinda wish that the cable was USBC and the adapter was type A rather than the other way but I knew that going in so can’t blame the product. Bare in mind, your network has to support the speed. It’s not going to magically double the speed of you router that has a 1gb port

works great
works great - only thing it does get quite warm though

Solid 10GbE via Thunderbolt!
When first shopping for a 10GbE Ethernet adapter for Thunderbolt, I was surprised at both the lack of choices and the large amount of critical reviews. I decided to pick one of the less expensive devices (almost at random) to try it out...First of all, this is NOT a USB device. Despite the fact that it plugs in via a USB-C connector, it doesn't "speak" USB. It uses Thunderbolt. If your machine doesn't explicitly support (and have enabled) Thunderbolt 3 or 4, this device won't work for you.Second, this device can't magically make your network go faster. If this is plugged into a switch that's slower than 10GbE, it will only negotiate a speed up to the capability of that switch. If the ethernet wiring is poor, it might even negotiate a SLOWER speed. Finally, this device WILL get hot. That's just the penalty of using 10GbE RG45 devices. Don't want the heat? Find another adapter that uses an SFP+ connector and use either fiber or a DAC (direct attached copper) cable to another SFP+ jack. All that being said, the device worked perfectly on both an M2 Macbook Air, and on a mini PC running linux (debian 12) without having to install special drivers. The linux box did require enabling thunderbolt and a reboot. I haven't been able to test this under Windows, though it should work fine with Marvell ACQ107 drivers.Once properly installed (with proper CAT6 or better cables), this device maintained full 10 gigabit transfers to other 10 GbE devices both directly connected and via a 10G switch. It full supports jumbo frames (at least up to 9000), VLANs, etc. It's been reliable enough that it's become the "permanent" network device on my proxmox server (running on a mini PC.)

Works with USB-C PCIe card in MacPro 5,1 running OS Monterey
Nice adapter, doesn't run too hot, nice set of both USB cables supplied. Getting drivers from Sabrent website is important maybe even IF your OS supports this on boot-up b/c what you might miss with basic OS support is Jumbo Frame MTU support for 9000k ... it'll just run at MTU 1500 sometimes without the proper drivers ... either Mac or Windows. I've also used the 10GbE version of this from Sabrent and it's excellent.. super expensive, but excellent all the same.

This works perfectly and never disconnects!
I use this for my NEWS server 10G internet connection and get 575MB/sec downloading 80GB files. I was using the OWC but we identified a problem with it when you start to run over 50 connections to the server, after hours of trouble shooting with a very knowledgeable tech, we identified the one difference between them, the Intel TB3 chipset. The OWC uses a higher end version of the chipset that supports video and this one uses one below it, but it only for networking, so none of the other things the OWC had in it. Also you need to set your TCP Receive and Send Buffers to the max in the driver details of the device manager. This thing is rock solid, but it get hot, around 48° Celsius, always, so keep it in an open area and have a good insulater below it, mine is on my glass TV stand beside the server. The OWC's are great, but not for what I was looking for, this one I just decided to try and it had zero issues.Highly recommended!!
