Nice color schemes.
This was a good calligraphy set Pen was very easy to write and sharp. Love the color. Nice that it comes with refilled. The only complaint I had is that there is no instructions on how to use and refill the pen. Its take me awhile to figure it out. Otherwise, everything else was satisfaction.

Great Pen for the Price
Once I figured out you have to take the inside piece out of the barrel and push the ink cartridge in until it snaps...these pens were easy to use. As a beginner fountain pen user, these are pretty smooth. I wasn’t expecting such great quality for this price. The ink that it comes with is very nice! Tip: I had to pierce some of the cartridges with a paper clip first before inserting them.

cheaply made and not worth the savings
The black inks were impossible to insert despite even banging it on the table to puncture the top of the cartridge. I finally poked it with a paperclip. There was one cartridge that did easily go in but the top of the pen wouldn't come off so no matter how hard I pulled, only the bottom of the pen came off even though it's threaded! I thought this would be a nice inexpensive starter kit but sitting here with ink all over my fingers I realize you get what you pay for! and this is one item where the pens are so cheap, it's not worth the savings.

The key to this pen set.
Well first thing, just pull out the refillable part because your using The ink cartridges.once its out of the way, put the ink color u pick into the nib side,until it snaps into place,then screw handle side together . an your done. I tried using both. An was about to return item, until I read about trying to use the refillable part. An that each pen had the extra parts, to refill.

Meh
I do prefer calligraphy / italic nibs on fountain pens, and since I lend mine frequently to students I buy the cheaper plastic ones. These are sturdy enough for what they are, but the nibs don't write consistently, which I find frustrating. Perhaps a bit of tuning and more adjustment will help.I can't speak to the ink cartridges supplied as I use bottled inks with the converters.
