Our old shower head was about 6 years old. And despite regular cleaning in vinegar, it has been feeling past its prime. On top of that our low water pressure has gradually (over the course of the last year) turned showering into a pretty dismal experience.So! As I began shopping, I was focused on the shower heads that are meant to improve on poor water pressure. I like to find products that have near perfect ratings, and LOTs of ratings. This one certainly fit that.Something else I do is to hover over the star ratings and do a quick count of the stars above average as well as the stars below average, then use THAT as a basis for comparison when I'm narrowing down the choices. 94% positive, only 5% negative: people LOVE this shower head.Even so, I wasn't sure if the product photos of the brushed nickel one might look a bit "cheap". I spent some time wondering if I should choose a competing shower head in brushed nickel that had a magnetic attachment by Moen (a brand I know; since I had never heard of Vida Alegria).In the end, I let the overwhelming ratings for this one make my decision. I'm so glad I did: it looks good, it does not feel cheap, the stretchable hose is a nice feature, AND the spray quality it achieves is phenomenal! (I did not even need to take out the removable flow restrictor.)

(See UPDATE below): We purchased this product in February 2018. Up until this time, we’ve been very pleased with it. Other reviewers noted that they had problems with the hose, but we chose to go ahead with the purchase. The water pressure is great and installation was a breeze. Some reviews complained the hose lost the paint. We were willing to live with that. However, this weekend, about six months after our original purchase, the hose began leaking near the handheld shower head. Not a little: a lot. I suspect the seller will make good on this. But, the number of reviews citing the hose as a problem, I would imagine the would try to source them from a more reliable source. In any case, it worked great for 6 months. If they get in touch with me to make it right, I’ll let folks know.UPDATE 8/17/18: Within 6 hours of my review, the Seller had graciously contacted me to apologize and provide replacement hoses (more than they had to). The replacement hoses seem more sturdy than the original. I had the replacements within 3 business days. There was never any problem work the actual handheld shower head which would get five stars by itself. The problem was only the hose quality. We're raising our rating to reflect that the Seller made things right timely, kindly and respectfully. We're holding one star to highlight the fact that - as a unit - the product didn't survive longer than one-sixth of its warranty period. If they can maintain hose quality, this is the best handheld shower head we've seen.

Works very well. When installing you can set it at 1 of 3 different "water saving & pressure reducing" levels. With our former basic / traditional shower heads, the water pressure was notoriously weak. When installing this shower head, I tried each of the water settings, and now the water pressure is WONDERFUL... sure my water bill may take a hit.The hose is quite long... which is part of the reason I bought this model. I have a big dog and the long hose helps immensely. However, the hose is so long that if I dropped it, the head would hit the ground and likely smash to bits. (I made a loop with an electrical tie to prevent this). Note my shower head is at a standard ~7' height.I love the shower head, I love the pressure, washing my dog is way way easier. I wish there was a more elegant way to manage the long hose...
