Works - food stays fresh noticeably longer
These containers work, food does last longer. I liked these containers so much that I went out and bought the middle size for strawberries. ( FreshWorks Medium )I use the large size for baby spinach, the small size for blueberries and the middle size for strawberries. I just dump the produce in without washing, per instructions. All of the produce lasted significantly longer than without these containers. My challenge with fresh fruit and other produce is that, while I love fresh fruit or spinach, I may go through periods of days of not wanting any. If not used fresh fruit and greens will spoil rapidly. With the FreshWorks containers, I've had blueberries well over a week without getting crinkly or mushy, and strawberries well over a week and a half without getting moldy or mushy. The spinach, which typically last a good long time, lasted even longer in the container. The quality of the produce remains noticeably better over time using FreshWorks containers.Apparently they achieve this via a little vent in the lid that has a filter (that you do not remove or clean) that I assume allows CO2 released from aging produce to leave the container. There is also a tray in the containers that lift the produce from the bottom in case moisture has gathered there. Whatever the claims of the mechanisms, the effect is visible.. product lasts longer. Are these cost effective? These are not cheap containers. If you are someone that keeps throwing away fruit or vegetables that have gone bad, then probably yes. The real reason I think the containers are worth the money and why I went out bought the medium container on top of the large and small.... these just make my life easier and better. The containers help to take one more hassle out of my life and keep the food in my fridge tasting better for a longer period of time.

Like a mini-crisper for berries, herbs, and small vegetables
I bought one of these, then a full set, then a second set. They work.It isn't magic, and it isn't especially complex. Basically, it is a couple of things that make these containers good for fruits and herbs. Each one has a green plastic perforated tray at the base that raises the produce above any liquid that settles on the bottom and allows for air flow. It isn't very high, and can be kind of a pain when it falls out, but it is effective. The second thing is the vent in the lid, which allows some airflow to keep the interior from getting too moist while preventing them from drying out, which would happen if they were put into the fridge uncovered. It isn't adjustable, which is probably fine. Most of the low-humidity items are too large for the containers, like apples, pears, and melons. They've engineered the vents for the higher-humidity items likely to go in them like berries, leafy greens, asparagus, and herbs. The best thing you can do to keep your produce safe other than these containers is to get them into the fridge as soon as possible after buying them. The longer they are in a warm environment, like the car ride home or your countertop, the quicker they will go bad. Washing them is a good idea for health reasons, but won't make them last longer. A product made for washing them is best, but you can also use a solution of three parts water to one part vinegar to wash them and kill some fungi and bacteria. These containers aren't magic, but they are better than the original berry containers, and far better than just loosely wrapping them in the plastic bag they came in and hoping for the best. They stack well, too, if you have enough height between shelves.I do wish they had these in their higher-priced Premier line with plastic made from super-clear Tritan instead of the standard translucent plastic. Perhaps they will do this in the future.Recommended.Sean Logue, 2017

Functionally very good, but didn't realize the sizes of two piece set.
These are really good, we've used them a couple of times already with blueberries, strawberries and grapes and they've definitely lasted way longer than usual. I think these will really help a lot since we used to throw out a lot of produce since it goes bad so fast. The one thing that surprised me was how much bigger the large one is than the small one in the two piece set. The pictures don't really show the difference all that well. The larger one is actually much bigger and better for grapes or lettuce. I was thinking the large one would be good for strawberries and the small one for blueberries, but even a the larger size of strawberries from the supermarket doesn't come close to filling up the large one.

AMAZED!
What an amazing product. I was always having trouble keeping produce fresh after buying. Felt like I had to use within days of buying, but not anymore. I followed the directions and by doing so I found that fruit and vegetables were staying fresh so much longer. I did a few test runs. In the small one I but strawberries(whole) in. Normally I would just leave in the container it came in and in a matter of days half would go bad. After using the produce saver it was almost 2 weeks later and the berries were still fresh. I was amazed. What I was even more amazed with was when I placed half an onion in one. I purchased a red onion at the store (which had probably been in the store bin for days), came home and used half for dinner. The other half I placed in the produce saver. I was AMAZED that 3-4 weeks later it was still fresh, crisp taste, no mold, nothing. AMAZED. I use the produce saver for everything. I've found its great for grape tomatoes, berries, peppers, cucumbers, peaches and herbs. I make infused water and need fresh mint leaves all the time. I bought a bundle of mint and 3 weeks later the leaves were still bright green and fresh. I highly highly recommend that this product be in everyones kitchens. I've bought 4 sets for friends and family and all have had the same luck that I had. I think you'll find that you won't be wasting so much produce. Honestly think anyone that buys won't be disappointed.

I don't notice a difference
I don't find that these containers help me preserve fruits or vegetables for longer periods. The large one is a great size for storing salad leaves, so there's that...

Utiles y resistentes

Rubbermaid Fresh works......they really work.
I am so happy with this container, I purchased a few different sizes and I am truly amazed in the freshness with my grapes, raspberries and blackberries. I recommend these containers to everyone, they keep the fruits so fresh and last 1 - 2 longer!!!
