The Guardian Conceal Carry Bag Purse Pattern No. 3100 By Studio Kat Designs

I've been a sewer for 25 years and have made everything from my wedding dress to baby clothes to baby slings (for which I had a business for) to numerous purses and bags that I've designed. I can pretty much sew anything and everything and I am that person if I see something in a store, I am often heard saying, "I can make that". With that being said, I just want to say that this pattern is not for the beginner. You definitely need to have some experience in sewing and reading sewing instructions to tackle this project. I highly recommend going to the studio website to download the companion pictures or at least have them available on a tablet or laptop for reference. Some of the instructions are hard to understand and I did have to rip a few out a couple of times before I got it correct. Overall, the purse turned out great and I am very pleased with the construction. I did have to make the holster a bit larger to accommodate my hand gun but it wasn't anything major. I will probably make a couple more of these bags since I like the ability to customize my fabrics to my taste. I will probably do so with some alterations though. Although I made it for the first bag, I don't really have much use for the zip down, credit card holder pocket on the front and will probably replace it with another large pocket like the one on the back. It was a bit tedious to put together. I also need it to be a bit larger so I will probably adjust it to make it a couple of inches wider (thicker) and think this can be accomplished without too much alteration. I'll also add some pockets on the inside as well such as a zipper pocket on the non-conceal side and a couple of patch pockets. All of these adjustments are pretty minimal and can be accomplished without a lot of fuss for the advanced seamstress. Be forewarned, this pattern isn't for the faint of heart. I had to put it in "time out" twice because I got frustrated with the instructions, But now that I know how to do it, the next ones will be a piece of cake. Overall, it's a great bag and an excellent alternative to the $300+ leather bags and the super bling, country bags out there that aren't really my style.

This pattern is for people that are confident sewers, it is challenging & take time to make. The finished product is very nice, however I was surprised how small it really is. I do like the pattern & the bag & will probably make more in the future.

I used to do a little sewing, but when I got this pattern, I said,, nope, not going to be able to do this. So I had a good friend who is a lot more experienced with sewing, make it for me. She was VERY frustrated with the instructions, and called the owner to tell her so. I guess the owner didn't like hearing her negative opinion. My friend had to rip things out more than once trying to follow the instructions. She finally just did it the way she herself would have done it, and it turned out wonderful. It is very cute, and my friend did a GREAT job, even though she has less hair now. So I gave it 5 stars because I'm not the one who sewed it.

This purse design is very well thought out & it is not going to be too difficult to make. Afterward I can use it as intended or simply as an adorable purse! You would really like this purse as it will easily become your sure thing seller at your next craft show.

Love this pattern, however not for the novice sewer. Directions are clear and easy, technique is advanced.

Can't wait to make this for my new gun. Looks easy to make and has lots of plus'.

Haven't made this yet, need to find all the pieces and parts before jumping on this project but looks interesting to say the least.
