ELKHART SUPP Elkhart LPT30 30A Transfer Switch

The second switch was a dud also. Didn’t work on our next trip. Think twice before wasting you money on this switch.The first one was installed and after starting it shorted out on first start up. Amazon took it back and sent another out. So we got real busy if life and hadn’t used the toy hauler. We regularly start the generator and put a load on it with the AC and micro while the hauler is parked. So the bad news is when we need it for this weekends fun trip it failed. I’m disappointed as I can be being its located under the kitchen sink in a pin in the back spot and hasn’t had any real time of use on it. Please send me the upgraded model to a vet the likes things to work proper. I’ll 5 star it all the was to Memphis when u send a new one out. Dissapointed in Phoenix

The transfer switch mechanism is mounted on plastic (bakelite?) and it split at the rivets holding it in the box. I was able to epoxy it back together and install it. It appears to be working fine.

This was easy to install and works great. I would recommend that you set it up so the generator will run 20 to 30 second before the Transfer Switch switches over to the generator. By doing so, you protect your appliances from surges and gives your generator time to warm-up.
