No fuss, trustworthy recipes
The TV series prompted me to buy this book as I found myself printing out so many recipes. I am not disappointed as there are many more I am in the process of trying. I find Nigella's recipes easy to follow and reliable. Love the addition in this book of the notes section on advance preparation and storage. So far nothing but success with the recipes I have done.

A decent collection of home food recipes
As ever with Nigella Lawson this is a collection of easily doable recipes, some of which are barely other than assembly jobs and others which are a little more complex. She does remind the readers that she is not a chef but a cook and what she creates is for the home. She, Ottolenghi-like, seems to enjoy chucking a handful of pomegranate seeds here and there which isn't always necessary. And there are some bizarre combinations, I tried the miso tahini one out of curiosity and wouldn't recommend it (though to be fair, maybe my miso wasn't of prime quality?) All in all, it's a nice addition to any recipe book collection.

Dreamy Turkish Eggs!
When I first saw Nigella made this Turkish Eggs on tv, I knew I had to make it. There is something about this dish that is so comforting. I couldn’t find the Aleppo pepper but the substitute she suggested in her recipe worked well. I had this with sourdough toast which is a perfect companion to the creamy mix!

Nothing but padding
About three decent recipes wedged together with an un-ending stream of useless padding. This book really seems to be aimed at someone who rarely, if ever, actually ventures into a kitchen. Yes, I know its supposed to be 'home cooking' but does anyone really need to be told how to put tomatoes on to toast? An utter waste of money.

Great ideas to play around with...
Bought this for my husband...She's got great ideas and easy-ish recipes. Leeks, peas and chicken especially easy and good.Lots of easy tasty recipes.Sad there is only one picture of Nigella ...and thats on the front jacket of the book. A few more would have been nice (... thats according to my husband!!!).
