Golden Memories Of Billy Vaughn - Five Original Albums ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED SET

Here are five great albums from the 1959-1961 period of Billy Vaughn: Golden Hits, Golden Saxophones, Theme From "A Summer Place," "Look For A Star," and Theme From "The Sundowners," all of which were very popular at the time of their release. There are 61 reasons why this 2-CD set ought to be in your music library and they're all great. My only beefs are why are some of the selections in mono when they were all released in stereo and why are Billy Vaughn's pictures from widely different times as opposed to showing him only the way he looked at the time of these 5 fabulous albums. I recommend to Jasmine that they use in their upcoming 3rd 2-CD set, two albums that they skipped when putting this CD set together and they are: Linger Awhile and Golden Waltzes.

Here you have five albums(61 Songs) at such a great price it's hard to believe. you get the popular hit's of the 40's & 50's and the 60's including a number of film themes along a little country and some forties goodies too. I can't say enough about this album the list of song is too long to list but each one is worth a listen! It doesn't matter if the songs come from TV Show or a movie. Most of these songs are about the most pure sound that is so melodious and uplifting. Great Listening enjoyment!

I first listened to Billy Vaughn at my grandparents, it brought back many memories.

As a 12 year old I used to love to listen to Billy Vaughn's Golden Saxophones record, and it is in this collection in it's entirety. My parents also had Wheels, and Sail Along Silvery Moon, which I purchased separately.. these records were some of the earliest stereo recordings, and still sound great today.. you also get 4 other albums of music, it is a great buy.

This compilation features about 60 tracks of beautiful music. They are most of them not Top 40, but they are great listening. The velvet sound of 2 alto saxes in harmony is trademark Billy Vaughn. Couple of my favorites - movie themes: 'A Summer Place', 'The Sundowners'. Thank you Billy, you were a treasure.

When I bought this album along with two other BV albums I had been looking for BV's music in CD format to replace my old vinyls which were cumbersome to play. I love Billy Vaughn's style of music and musical arrangements; he was a very gifted musician; his twin sax method was/is great; listen to some if his songs to know what I mean; he was not overly jazzy or romantic slow in his beat; he had a great sense of timing and he was always popular.

Very pleased with purchase. I did not know about Billy Vaughn before but while I was browsing through some tunes on youtube, just by chance I listened to one of his tracks and was eager to hear more. What I like about Amazon is that you can hear the tracks before you buy so that you know it is the tune you have been looking for. I tend to spend money buying cd's as a result. This type of music is for a cultured mature ear, a person who loves instrumental music to appreciate the many instruments harmonizing together to bring a lovely rendition of a particular song/tune. This particular album I think is his best.
