Does the Job
Bought this to replace a burnt out pump (after 5 years) used to keep my pool cover clear of water. I picked this particular pump because of the wider base and the way the water level detector was out in the open (my old pump's small base caused it to fall over plus the water detector was internal and difficult to keep clean). Unfortunately the new pump's plastic detector holder was damaged in shipping. I called the manufacture - explained the problem - Patty was quick to understand and arranged to ship me a replacement holder. She left me a happy person!

HydraSense doesn’t
Pump is good. I use it in a 5 gallon bucket (or dehumidifier). But the HydraSense stopped working correctly after one week. Pump turns on, but doesn’t turn off (runs continuously after water is gone). I have to unplug it to stop the pump.

Mid level price for mid level action
I bought this product thinking it looked like the over $100 pool cover pumps. The sensor on the device does not function 100% of time. The suction power is average causing longer wait time to complete job. The bottom attachment comes off easily when moving device with pool stick to areas on the pool cover which is frustrating. It does get the job done.

Works well!
Tested auto on and it works well. Feel more secure knowing this tool is in basement standing guard in case of water intrusion. Insurance!

Crappy
Pump ran for less than a minute, then started leaking like a sieve.

Moves a great deal of water quickly
This sump pump is larger than I have owned before and can attest to the fact that it moves a great deal of water with little effort. This would be an ideal pump for draining a large amount of water such as a pool or a pond if you needed to do some work on the item. It does take up a little room so with the footer attached it probably takes about 1 ft by 1 ft to site it.The cord is plenty long so you will not have a problem with putting it in a deeper body of water and still have a cord to use although you might have to plug it into an extension cord if the power source is too far away. I have not had to use it much but so far it has performed flawlessly and seems to be very heavy duty so I anticipated going for years before it would need to be replaced. It did have a slightly unusual system for determining water level as I am used to pumps that have a float and valve situation where this has a wired piece on the side that is similar to a remote-looking device that when the water reaches a certain point it will turn the pump off. It took me a little time to figure that out as the instructions or not the easiest to read but once I figured it out things worked well.

Cord is too Short for Everyday Use
The cord is too short for everyday use. This pump is nice for emergencies though. It has lots of power/suction. If for everyday use, I would need the sensor to be mounted lower, but for emergencies or for one time use, the sensor can be positioned so the pump will run constantly. The base is sturdy and keeps the pump nicely upright. The cord needs to be longer to reach from the outlet to the middle of the pool cover.

A multi-function submersible pump with hydradetect technology
This very capable pump can be completely submerged so it can be installed in a sump pump pit. In this use case, you can install the wired hydradetect sensor to specific the water level that will trigger the pump to start. This is ideal as a backup pump in the pit. When the water rises, the primary pump works start to remove the water. If the primary pump dies, the water level will continue to rise. If this pump’s water sensor is elevated to a higher level, say 6” above the primary pump, then this pump will start to pump water when it sensor detects water level above the primary pump (meaning the primary pump is not pumping water for some reasons). Another use of this pump is for a pool cover. Again by placing the hydradetect sensor in the proper place, this pump will start pumping when the pool cover is retaining too much rain water. This is a good utility pump to have in the house as a spare for emergency use.
