I worked at a vet clinic for 4 years so learned a thing or 2 about cats along the way. One thing u learned is that licking and crouching while eating is a natural way to eat. So I said hey how about I try the likie mat. I bought it one day and use it once a day for her homemade food I make her once a month from my nutrition knowledge. She eats slower, licks it all up and loves the mat so much that there is even a small bite mark from one day when I forgot to put it away and she dragged the mat to me asking for homemade food on her mat. Plus its orange which is a easier color for cats to see to. Just like green and red. Ten out of ten

My frail older cat loved this, as it made it easier for her to pick up,lick up the food pieces, instead of them getting pushed around with the tongue. My other 6 yr old cat wouldn't have any of it.

I’ve been trying to find different ways to keep my sweet (mostly blind) cat entertained after her bestie of 10 years passed away. Our vet recommended a lick mat. This may sticks to the ground well for her, but she’s really chill while eating, so keep that in mind. The downside for this specific ons (the “soother” is how close the little pieces are. Her liquid treats get smooshed in between them and because they little “arms” are so close, she has a really hard time getting it out. This might be because she is mostly blind or it might be an issue that everyone comes upon. The mat also has a STRONG plastic smell. I’ve washed it multiple times but it hasn’t gone away, so I think that pushes her away from wanting to use it. I’m going to try another mat that has more space in hope that she’s able to get more of the treats…and hopefully less of a plastic smell!All in all, it holds to the floor and seems durable. I imagine it’s better for dryer food or at least no liquids so that it doesn’t get buried amid the arms.

I have a cat that gulps his food so the vomit comes up before he finishes, ruining normal pet food eating for the other two. My first solution was slow feeding bowls. This resulted in the cats either not being able to get their food or at all (smaller crevices) or pawing it out and leaving food all over the floor (larger crevices). These mats are the solution; slows down eating and minimal food on the floor, like a few pieces a week minimal. I put them on a computer monitor stand to keep debris out and make feeding easier (this one has raised plastic in the back to adjust the length of the shelf...keeps the mats from sliding backward!), an added silicone mat underneath to keep them from sliding, and five months later I am confident this is the permanent solution to my pig of a cat!

My cat, Grayson, is a healthy 11 yr old silver Tabby. I adopted him 7 months ago. He has no front teeth so I give him wet food. He used to lick his food clear across the dish where he couldn't get at the last 1/4 of it. He was also throwing up frequently because he was eating too fast. This little mat has eliminated both of those issues and he took to it right away. I raise it to a more comfortable eating height for him by turning his old stainless food bowl upside down and putting the mat on top of it. Easy-peasy.I clean the mat by propping it up against the side of my sink, food side out, and running hot water down over it. I learned the hard way that holding it under running water throws water everywhere, so don't do that. After rinsing, I park it in the dishwasher until I'm ready to fill the sink and hand wash a few things.

It wastes a lot of wet food in the crevices. Once the food isn't over the texture, my cats walked away leaving a lot still in the crevices. It was hard to get the food off as well. I thought my cat's would like it but I don't want to use it if it's just going to waste food that they would eat fully if it was in a bowl.

I received my Lickimats today, both were the Playdate style. My cats took to them right away and seemed to enjoy eating a different way from their usual bowls. I was hoping they'd get into the tight places because that's the point, the challenge of getting every bit of the food is supposed to be enjoyable for them. Fingers crossed they return to their Lickimats to finish off the remaining bits and pieces, but if they don't I'm still going to use these as I won't have to buy those expensive paper bowls anymore. I have yet to see how easy they'll be to clean, but I imagine if they're soaked in square container, maybe they can just be rinsed off. I really like the bright color choices. I think Lickimats is a really cool concept.

Use them for feeding raw to my dogs. Finally found then pink one and it's sturdier than the blue colour. Easy to wash with a scrub brush.

Ich bin froh, dass ich die Lickimats gefunden habe, die haben mir mein Hundehalterleben um einiges vereinfacht. Ob Gewitter, Silvester oder einfach nur so meine Hunde lieben die Dinger. Und ich auch, einfach in die Spülmaschine und fertig.

I purchased this Lickimat to stop my cat eating his meal too quickly. This great mat really does the job keeping him busy with slowly eating his dinner and it stops him from instantly purging his meal from eating too quickly! Highly recommended 😹😹😹

Super Beschäftigung für Katzen, sie fressen dadurch viel länger und müssen etwas dafür tun. Lässt sich auch sehr leicht reinigen. Top!

I have a large breed cat who can be fussy on what biscuits he likes at different days and sometimes we end up with multiple bowls but with this quite large mat I can put different flavours for him to eat when he feels like it.The quality is great and with wet food it’s at least a bit more interesting to lick up and moderately easy to clean due to the material (you can bend it and the dry parts come out). However I prefer to use it for dry food.It is also useful for giving medications mixed with the ‘hand feed tubes’ as cat seems to think it is fun and forgets about the medication.
