Chargers the battery as expected , one problem is that the led won't stop blinking even after charging the battery fully , the only way to find the amount of battery charged is to put the battery back in the camera and check. Holder is pretty loose so you have to keep it flat all the time.

This is not for the Nikon D40
It was stated that it could be used with the Nikon D40 but this is not the case. the one was given because the sell gave the wrong information and not for the product
