Integrates well with Amazon Alexa
The unit was easy to connect to wifi. The instructions recommend using the Refoss home automation software, which can be downloaded from Google Play. The unit works well with the Refoss application. The door sensor, which advises the unit of the door's position, is wired. In my case, the length of this wire was too short. I had to add about 10 feet to the wire to provide enough length to reach the unit. This involved cutting the provided wire mid-section, and soldering in the required additional length of wire. I mounted the unit itself to the body of my garage door opener using the provided double sided tape. The opener works well, allowing the user to control the garage door via the Refoss application. The Refoss application allows you to name the device whatever you wish to name it.I wanted to integrate Amazon Alexa so that I could control the device by voice. The unit integrates well with Alexa. However, the user is required to set up a 4 digit code in order to use the voice control feature. When the user asks Alexa to open the garage door, Alexa responds by asking for the 4 digit code. (This is a security feature) When the code is spoken, the door proceeds to open. This essentially makes opening the door a two step process. I found a way to open the door using one spoken voice cue. Once you set up the device and the 4 digit code, you can open the door in the following fashion. Ask Alexa the following: Alexa, open (name given to the unit) using (four digit code). Alexa will open the door without asking for the 4 digit code (since you already provided the code within the spoken command). The door closes when Alexa is asked: Alexa, close (name given to unit). The user can ask Alexa (or consult the Refoss application) what the status of the garage door is. This tells the user whether the door is in the opened or closed position. You can ask the Refoss application to send notifications to your phone or tablet when the door opens or closes. You can also have the software advise you if you have left the door open for a period of time. There are numerous other options within the application.I'm very happy with this wifi opener. It replaced another wifi opener (different manufacturer and more expensive) which was difficult to connect to wifi, and which mercifully died following a power outage.

A Must Have for All Garage Doors! Simple to install and use
Garage: LiftMaster 7650 (yellow)I purchased this to use by itself to simply check to see if I'd left the garage opened. I did NOT plan on using this with any assistant of similar service.KEY NOTESThe accessory is a wireless feature (2-week ship time from China to US).There is a history of how the garage was opened: remote or app. There is no user history. You can control the notifications as well as auto-closing if desired. My garage has NEVER opened/closed on it own.Unit beeps when closing via the appTotal Installation Time: 13-minutes (Includes pre-drilling, mounting, and app set up).Includes double-sided tape AND screws for mounting.Right off the bat, I needed the accessory to go along with my garage. I reached out to the manufacturer via email, sending them my order number, copy of the receipt, garage opening brand and model, and the identification number on the Wi-Fi garage opener as well. They responded within 24 hours, including a photo of how to connect the accessory. An hour later I received an email with tracking information. Shipping of the accessory from Shenzhen, China took 17 days and arrived via regular postal service.I took a moment to check out the accessory, it's basically garage opener remote that integrates with the Smart Garage system. When I figured this out, I was smiling from cheek to cheek!I went to m garage and began mocking up where I'd wire the system. The included wire was plenty long enough. In a test run, I started at the bottom corner trim beside the garage door. Up 9-feet to the ceiling, 2 feet to reach the ceiling corner, 20 feet into my garage, about 5 feet over to the center of my garage with slack to spare. I was quite pleased.I ultimately ended up attaching the sensors to the top corner of the garage. I wanted to ensure the sensors weren't bumped out of place. One on the top corner of the door and the other on the trim. The tolerance for the sensors is pretty large. The manual says the sensors need to be within 1-inch of each other. I was able to get the sensors just over 2-inches before they registered the garage door as "opened". But playing it safe, I aimed to get the sensors as close as possible. The cabling, I had to staple into place. The kit includes 1 zip-tie, which I assume is for the unit itself, not cable management. From the top corner of the garage door, I ran the cable straight to the wall which had shelving in place. I ran the wire on the top of the shelving and set the controller on the wall across from my garage opener.Since the accessory is a wireless controller, I knew that I didn't have to get to the garage opener. Prior to installing, I tested the accessory from the door (about 15-feet away) and it opened and closed the garage without an issue. With this in mind, I knew it would be able to send a signal to the opener less than 6 feet away, I just had to get power to the unit. This made for a great set up. The unit was totally out of site, yet easy to access, even with a vehicle in the garage. Now for the app. Set-up was simple and easy. The app walks you through the whole thing step by step. The only negative point is that the process doesn't end with a test to ensure the unit works correctly. I say this because the accessory diagram was reversed, which originally resulted in the accessory not working correctly. Very annoying, but I quickly figured out the issue. The app itself is very easy to use. The home screen shows an image of the garage's current state. But be careful because pressing the garage close will activate it. It's with this in mind that I added a code to minimize mistakes. Settings were nice. You can dictate whether you want notifications when the door is opening, or closed, or both. I chose open. There's also a reminder that will tell you when the door has been opened for more than set amount of time. You can also have the door close after that set amount of time if desired. There's also a feature that will automatically close/open the door at a certain time.My favorite feature is the closing alarm. When the app closes the door, the unit (in the garage) lets out a pretty loud alerting beep. This saved my the one day I was working in the garage when someone decided to attempt to shut the garage door. I heard the alerting beep and quickly moved to the garage door and passed my foot in front of the sensor to stop the closing motion. Oh yes, the original sensor still works as intended. In short, the whole unit is like a secondary remote such as what you'd have in your vehicle. It's been a little over a week and I'm enjoying the unit as a whole. I've NEVER had my garage open without my purposefully doing it. This is a great device. The accessory is a great touch BUT I wish it was included with the unit. I even looked to purchase it separately and could not find it.

Big game changer for us!
I bought this after my wife and I realized we'd accidentally left the garage open for at least a day--possibly two. Now, we live in a very safe area, but that was not the first time the garage sat open longer than intended. Nothing was taken, but I didn't want to have this happen again. Now to the review:I have a Wayne Dalton Classicdrive 3018, which is not technically supported. I reviewed the specs and figured it should be OK. The first picture shows the side, the bottom two screws are where you will need to attach the Refoss with the rest of your equipment. I tested the item prior to installation, and after a few minutes of fun pulling the magnets apart and together, watching the app show the status in near real-time, I started. The electrical connections were easy--two screws in the Wayne Dalton, just hook the wires in (it doesn't matter which color wire attaches to the terminal). There's a power outlet for the garage door opener in the ceiling, and I just plugged the USB header into the open outlet. Easy enough.Getting the door sensors on was tricky. At first I thought to put it on the top of the door, but my door has a sharp angle at the top, and the sensors would not line up based on the distance. After a bit of poking around and watching the door open and close, I placed the sensors to the far upper corner of the door--I could not chance having the sensor scrape on the guide rail for the garage door, and the upper part of the door was the only place that never came close to contact with the rail. Because of the tight fit, screws were out of the question entirely (not that I was going to try drilling into the solid frame of the door). The answer was Gorilla Glue epoxy, to glue the magnets into the desired space. As shown, they fit very handsomely close together without touching or rubbing against one another.I won't lie--it took a lot longer than it should have to figure that part out.Tying it into Alexa was easy--same way you hook everything else into Alexa--download the skill, give it access to the device with your username/password, and done. You can simply tap the garage door button in the ehome app--easy, no fuss. Alexa will close the door without any kind of issue, and opening via Alexa requires a 4-digit password, for the record she will respond to the number zero as either 'zero' or 'oh'--nice little touch. I set it to close after 1 hour of being open--it worked flawlessly. I also--as a safety check--set it to close at 8pm. It worked in both circumstances. As a bonus, it lets you know the date and time the door is opened, and closes. Not that I'm that nosy, but having a means to see when my daughter will get home from school is a handy little feature. Finally, I used zip ties to hold the device to the garage door strap. I know the wires are messy, I'll clean those up another time because at 12:15 on a North Carolina day in July, you don't want to be in the garage anymore. This was a great buy for the money. It works, it was very effective and I am pleased with the results. I very much recommend this product.I was never going to buy a new garage door opener unless the current one died. This gave me features that I never thought I'd see in my home, and the peace of mind knowing that the garage will be locked and secure--even if we forget to close it--is immense. This is a must for anyone looking to upgrade their garage, integrate it into your smart home, and allow for easy verification of the status of the door whether by notification that it opened/closed, or to simply say "Alexa, is the garage open?" and get an answer--AND then close it remotely. Best of all, with the app on all our phones, my daughter doesn't even need a house key, she can literally walk up, open the garage, and get inside--very good news on those rainy days getting off the bus for school. I am genuinely impressed by this device.

Easy to Install and Works Flawlessly!
I was a little skeptical when I bought and initially setup this wifi garage door opener device because I had read that similar devices sometimes worked/didn't work sporadically and even lost wifi connection off and on. I've been using this device daily for a week now, and I've had no issues whatsoever! Below is some information on my impression of the setup, installation, and use of the Refoss Smart Wifi Garage Door Opener.Initial Setup:I really liked the ability to setup & configure the wifi connection before even placing the device in its final destination in the garage. The instructions were easy to follow and walked you through the steps of downloading the app for your phone, setting up an account, then plugging the device into an outlet, connecting to the device's wifi SSID, and finally connecting to your home's wifi. The instructions make sure to let you know that the wifi settings will be saved so that your device will simply reconnect automatically when you plug it into the final spot in your garage - that worked perfectly.Installation:Total installation probably took me about an hour. No drilling, screws or tools were actually used in my installation. I used the included materials + a little duct tape (to secure the sensor wire along the wall and to some of the metal support beams). Most of the time needed was for me to figure out exactly where I wanted to run the wire that connects the main device to the sensor you locate at the door. I've included a few photos of my setup. The wires that control the open & close functionality were easy to position. The instructions tell you to turn off the power for your garage door opener before performing that part of the install, but I'll admit that I didn't turn off the power. I just placed each of the two control wires from the device in the same spots with the existing garage door opener wires. No issues whatsoever, and once I plugged the device in the ceiling, the smart phone app immediately worked to open and close the garage door. I then proceeded to run the sensor wire. You'll see in one of the photos that I positioned one of the two sensors (the one not connected to a wire) on the metal side of the garage door. I didn't even need to use tape because the bottom of that sensor has a magnet on it which worked perfectly. I then positioned the other sensor (with the wire connected to it) on the wall directly across from the sensor on the side of the door. I used two pieces of the included double-sided tape to stick that sensor to the wall. At this point, installation was done. I just used the duct tape to secure the positioning of the sensor wire and to look nice.Using the Smart Opener:Now that installation is done, using the app was easy. There are a few settings to play with if you'd like (mostly for notifications), and as soon as I opened the door, a push notification was sent immediately to my phone telling me that the garage door had been opened. After I closed the door, I received another push notification immediately notifying me that the garage door had been closed. I love that! I eventually setup the Alexa integration, following the included instructions in the app, and it worked exactly as stated. If there's one thing that I'm not 100% pleased with, it's part of the Alexa integration. It's important to know, however, that this has nothing to do with the capabilities of this device. The limitation/issue that I have is actually a purposeful constraint of the way "locks" work with Alexa, and a garage door opener is considered a type of lock because it opens & closes a locked entrance to the home. The constraint is that it is not possible to use your voice to "unlock" or open the garage door without including a separate response for a PIN code. This isn't terrible, but it does make it impossible to add an Alexa routine with a voice phrase of your choice to open the garage door. You *can* create a routine to close the garage door easily enough, however.Overall, this is a great product at a very reasonable price. I've had no issues whatsoever, and I now have a reliable way to open and/or close the garage door from anywhere. Great product in my opinion!
