Corporate Turnaround: How Managers Turn Losers Into Winners!

This is a terrific book that would suit turnaround practitioners or aspiring ones. It is a timely classic that it very well written with no fluff. Don is clearly very bright and knows what he is talking about. He's incorporated a fair amount of statistical research and captures pearls of wisdom from accomplished turnaround professionals and thinkers. Lots of great quotes to bring it all together. I've covered a fair number of books and materials on the subject, and this is by far the best I've come across on it.

As a sales leader in transition from sales to TA, I have/am using "Corporate TA" as a text book and go-to reference guide in my new career as a TA manager/consultant. The book is very well written and formatted, with relevant and timeless principles.My gratitude to Donald Bibeault for his time and effort in writing this book and sharing his experience and insight it with others.

This book goes into every imaginable facet of turning around businesses from small to very large. Though dated, his concepts still apply.Great book, worth every penny I paid!

Great book

Despite having other books, I find that I refer to this book all whenever I need to refresh my memory about something. Very logically structured and with sufficient detail for you to get on with the job.

For those who need an introduction to corporate turnarounds, look here! Tells you what they are about, and what are the keys to a good turnaround. However for those looking to turn around a failing company, you would still best be served looking for a professional consultant granted every case is unique.

Super book, must read!

Rare book that combines high level strategy, academic research, and hands-on management insights. While I am not familiar with the turnaround "literature", as a management guide I found it very useful and it gave me a realistic sense of the corporate turnaround. Obviously it won't replace actual experience but I think the practical frameworks will surely help organise your thinking. I should also emphasize that the book draws on the insights of many practitioners as opposed to catchy frameworks dreamt up in an ivory tower. The book is dated of course but as far as I can tell from the Amazon recommendations, the book stands on its own as one of the definitive guides on the subject. As a side comment, UK managers will do well to read it given the pending macroeconomic changes in the country :)

Les messages qu'il est censé véhiculer (assez basiques pour quelqu'un qui a un minimum de formation et/ou d'expérience, donc inapplicabmes) sont dilués par un nombre incroyable de citations des directeurs des sociétés américaines sans aucune valeur ajoutée (le nom de la personne n'est pas parlant et/ou la société n'existe plus).

・筆者の知る限り、１９８１年に出された本書の翻訳本があることは知らないが、米国のアマゾンでは未だに企業再生部門のベストセラー書である。・本書はコンサル兼大学で教鞭をとるビボルト氏が、９７名の企業再生成功者へのインタビューから再生成功の秘訣を探し出した名著である。・特に１１章The key factors in turnaround successoyおよび１２章Turnaround failuresからは研究者の引用が多くなされているので目を通された方が良いであろう。・スラッター＆ロベット『ターンアラウンド・マネジメント』よりも現場的に書かれた本である。本書の構成は、企業の衰退原因→企業再生の基本事項→企業再生におけるリーダーシップ→企業再生の戦略とその実践・・・というように話が段階を追って進んでいくので分りやすい。・本書はやや分厚い本であるが、目次を見てポイント読みも可能である。・「企業再生関連の名著」であり、ぜひお読みになることをお薦めする。
