I use these for paint stripping, particularly the last step to get gunk off. They work well and are affordable.

Used this to help strip varnish from a door. Put a varnish stripper on first then after using a plastic scraper to get the bulk of the residual off these synthetic pads worked extremely well to get 90% of the rest. The synthetic material help prevent scratches to the wood but with vigor and pressure you can actually sand it down some. The flexibility allows it it get pretty good into grooves and edges and the open weave allows to removed material to be shaken out readily without clogging the pad

Removes paint fast, but it doesn't have much in the longevity department. Leaves black goo when mixed with paint remover

I turned to these after watching a video on making your own buffing wheels for a Dremel. These pads are 10x better than what the original is made of. The price is extremely low compared to what I found online elsewhere. The only con is when you cut them they shed small pieces everywhere, so prep your area for easy clean up if you plan to do this.

I bought these to use for stripping varnish off an old antique desk and they worked wonderfully. I will certainly order these same ones again if I run into that same need.

I used this to remove some paint from a small utility trailer to paint it afterwards.Although I did not intend to remove all the paint, just some of it, this is not really a stripping pad at all.It wears out quickly. The material is like plastic or fiber glass, I went to buy steel pads and a wire brush for my needs.Thieve 3m pads are more like something you would use to wash your steel pans for cooking.Mine lasted about 15 minutes and then went to the trash.If you need stripping pads think “steel”.
