It's perfect for what I need - a rebuttal to the negative reviews.
I don't write reviews often but I feel like I must as a rebuttal to some of the negative reviews that made me nervous to order this in the first place.I live in the Boston area and my body tends to overheat, so I always like to err on the side of cooler. I sleep with the AC in the summer, so I was looking for a cover that would keep me just warm enough with the AC but not overheat me and defeat the purpose of the AC. I was nervous that it would not be possible for me to find both things in one comforter. This insert does both jobs! I love how light yet comfy and cozy it feels.A lot of this has to do with whatever duvet cover you're using. I was originally using it with a bamboo cover that I loved the feel of, but it did feel a little heavy and not very breathable so after having it on me for too long I'd start to feel like I was overheating. I thought this might be due to the insert, but then for purely aesthetic reasons I switched the bamboo cover for a cotton one that I liked the design of better, and suddenly it is now PERFECT. It's very breathable so I can leave it on me and it never feels like it overheats; and yet, we just had our first chilly night of the year last night (this is why I felt so motivated to write this review this morning) and I was worried the comforter wouldn't be warm enough, but it was, to repeat myself, PERFECT! It reached the exact perfect resting warm temperature for my body without me feeling at all chilly or overheated. I could have lied in bed all day under that cover. And it's like $20? So I just felt like I had to post a rebuttal to the negative reviews that had made me question whether I should get it. I highly recommend it!!

Love this insert.
I don't understand all the hate for this product. I was almost afraid to open the package when it arrived, thinking I wasted my money. I was so happy to see that the hateful reviews were wrong. When the package arrived, I immediately put it in the washer on the allergy setting, which is the longest, hottest setting. I figured if it was going to fall apart, that would be the time. Luckily, it washed and dried beautifully, no lumps or bumps, and not a thread out of place.I put the insert inside a Ikea Nyponros Duvet Cover and Pillowcases, Full/queen, White/blue, and have slept in it for a week. It is wonderfully light, airy and crisp when inside the duvet cover, yet still warm. We sleep in a Scandinavian Style bedding setup, with 2 queen size duvets on one king size bed. No top sheet, just the fitted sheet. He gets his own duvet, and I get mine. He uses a Pinzon Basics Hypoallergenic Down Alternative Year Round Comforter, Full/Queen inside the matching Ikea comforter and although he loves the weight, it is too heavy for me.As long as you realize this is an INSERT, meaning it has to go inside a duvet cover, I don't think you can go wrong. It is hot water washable, dries fast and even, and a great value.

Not the same quality as their goose down duvets.
Our whole family have Ikea DOWN inserts for summer and winter. Our youngest finally moved into her "big girl bed" so I needed to get her a twin sized duvet. I decided to cheap out and get her a down alternative one from IKEA. Ugh! It's terrible! The outer fabric isn't the same cotton as the down filled ones. It's "picky" and thin. The filling is so light it moves around in the cover and the poor girl is left being covered by essentially 2 sheets (even when I put 2 lightweight duvets in the cover). NOT IMPRESSED. I'll be getting her the goose down duvets asap. Right now she has her sisters winter duvet and her big sis has her summer (#2) duvet and flannel jammies. VERY disappointed (but not really surprised since it was $20.) But at least cover it with cotton!

I am cheap, but this insert is cheaper.
Wooooheee, mama. Like most millennials, I have developed an extreme affinity for Ikea over the last few years. I own a lot of their products and, as much as it pains me to say this, I am not a fan of this one a t a l l. What was once a relatively comfortable- albeit cheaply made- duvet insert is now a big heap of melted plastic and weirdly distributed fluff. I've been halfheartedly shoving this thing into my duvet for months, since it no longer has any discernible shape, and my bed has never been so lumpy and sad. (Is there anyone out there that's into that? I don't know.) I'm still sleeping with it, though.

Excellent THIN/SUMMER duvet!
This is a super THIN duvet. I bought it for a 10yr old who sleeps on the hot side. It is not all plush and soft and wrap yourself up in a burrito squishy. It is an insert for people who are hot but want a blanket on them still. Our nights are still on the cool side ranging from low 40's to mid 50's (farenheit) Our home is well insulated and the ac is set to 65°f at night and my daughter is quite comfortable with this duvet. I will purchase more for the other kids once it gets a little warmer and into our summer. She will probably keep it year round though. I'm hoping (but not expecting) it will soften up a bit (it's the sturdy cloth/canvas like material ikea is known for) but it's inside her soft silky cover so she says it's just fine. You definately need a cover for it, it would be too scratchy without one. This is an excellent summer weight or warm climate duvet.

Very thin, but hard to keep in place
This product is very thin, which is what I was looking for. Our other insert is very fluffy, which isn't so great for summer. The only problem I have with it is because it's so thin, it's pretty much impossible to get it to not just bunch up in the middle of the duvet cover. I'm constantly trying to get the corners back out where they should be in a way I didn't have to with the fluffier one. It's great for summer, but annoying to keep in place!

Scratchy Paper like Synthetic Feel. Durability Issues
Purchased these to replace the winter comforter in our duvets for the Summer season. We were a little disappointed at the paper like feel of this product. The Cons: 1. They don't have corner ties so you have to use pins. 2. They are 4" too short. 3. One gentle wash in a front loader with Woolite has caused the quilted material to tear internally ( I figure 3 washes will make these totally unusable ) The Pros: 1. Delivered on time. 2. No Storage problems, as they will be in Recycle Bin as soon as the weather cools.

excellent buy if.....
you are looking for a light duvet. It works perfectly for me and I certainly recommend it for a 'hot' sleeper.

Excellent summer quality duvet
This is a perfect duvet for summertime in BC. It’s probably not suitable if you’re looking for a duvet for winter. It’s quite thin but inside a cotton duvet cover it is suitable for both my husband and me although we’re very different in how warm we feel.

Way too thin and cheap looking for the price
This product is ridiculous, very thin. Priced way too much for what you get. I wish I had returned it but I waited too long. Oh well
