Hi there, it's hard to answer as the "perfect cup of tea" is all up to individual taste - the great thing about this "Cup of perfect tea" spoon is that it is rounded so you can visually use the same amount of loose tea each time you brew: flat across the top 1X, heaping over the top 1X, 1 and 1/2 of these, or less than 1X, etc. The amount of loose tea you use to brew a cup or mug of tea is usually personal preference: for example, I like my tea a little stronger, so I use about 1 and 1/2 of this Cup of Tea spoonfuls for every 10 ounces or so of water. No. It's designed to hold the perfect scoop of tea. More importantly, your tea will have a more consistent taste since you're always using the same spoon.

well.. this is a spoon to give you a perfect cup in a 5-8oz mug. Tea is art, and science.. the same amount of lafs can make a 5 oz as well as a 8 oz cup, the 8oz will take 30 sec. longer to brew.. i would not use this size spoon for a infuser, use 2 of these for the infuser.. this is for a BLACK English style or Black Infused tea, not green or premium Chinese tea's brett
