Compressor Failed 5 months. Was LOUD - like a train - BUT leaks air.
Update:Compressor Died after about 4-5 months . I’m replacing it with a VIAIR 450C (check their reviews).. the tank leaked air - pretty much garbage. Vixen wanted me to pay for shipping their garbage back to them. I even offered to replace the little metal flapper valve - to save us both money. But they said they don’t carry spare parts!!! So I’m doing what I should have done - going all Viair stuff from now on. I attached pictures of the Vixen next to my new Viair. See how much smaller and less cooling the Vixen has? I got the Viair 450C.I recommend do not BUY the Vixen.———previous review—-5 months ago at first purchase below——It's LOUD - like a train - BUT leaks air. I've checked all fittings on the tank, re-seated them. All tank fittings seem airtight. So, the only thing left to leak is the horn actuator - which is buried securely behind my front bumper (F350). If you don't mind airing up the tank every time you drive - then you'll probably be satisfied. ALSO - I had to BUY more hose. The hose supplied would not reach from the bed of my truck to my front bumper. There was NO space under my 2015 F350 to mount the 3 gallon tank. I'd recommend going with the smaller tank too. OR spend about $100 more $$$ and get a higher quality setup (Viair). You get what you pay for....

Dissapointed
Small horns. Picture was misleading.. Not enough air hose.. No hose for remote filter. No lock washers for horn mount. Light weight horn bracket. Did not use.. Short braided hose from compressor limiting mounting options. No female connections for horn wires. Horn wires so short could not even ground to mounting bolt. No 10 amp fuse in fuse holder as per diagram. No 30 amp fuse holder as per diagram. Ring connector on wire for pressure switch and spade connector on pressure switch. PREMUM thread tape in kit did not work.. Leaks on all fittings cept one. Had to use regular thread tape. After retaping all leaking fittings I had a leak at a weld on the tank.. I need a replacement tank that does not leak at a weld.. VERY DISSAPOINTED in this whole kit.. R.B. Barnby 443-801-8101 I received a replacement kit and changed the air tanks.. Again I had a leak.. This one was at the relief valve.. Against my better judgement I tightened the relief more and twisted the relief off.. After removing the relief I installed the other relief that came in the new kit and it too leaked at the threads.. I just removed it and put in a relief valve I had on hand and it did not leak.. These relief valves are made wrong.. The nut should be in the main body of the valve rather than on the top where there is little metal to take the twist of tightening.. This whole kit was a big disappointment and if it had not been for uninstalling it and repacking it I would have sent the whole kit back.. After getting the system hooked up to work I was disappointed with the sound. They are not very loud and the valve in the horn itself is leaking causing the compressor to come on and recharge about every two hours. This whole system is such a disappointment and a waste of money. The new tank I received to replace the tank with the leaking weld on the bung, I had trouble getting one of the fittings to stop leaking on it. I finally retapped the bung and cured the problem. I don’t think the Chinese know what a NPT thread is. They want everything in metric.

2nd set, same problems
This is my 2nd vixon horn kit. Ive had this under 2 months and it has quit working. I repurchased this after the first set also quit working within a 2 month period. The return window is only 30 days. It is very frustrating that these last only past the return window and then quit forcing you to replace. I would suggest a different brand if you want something that is going to last.

I never leave bad reviews but I have to on this one
I never leave bad reviews but I have to on this one...I had the unit installed professionally about 3 months ago. The compressor no longer works! I have it on an auxiliary switch in an f-250, and have only ran the compressor maybe 15times total. I rarely used it and it is complete covered away from any moisture as I also had a professional grade bed cover installed for the purpose to protect the train horn for rain and weather elements. I can hear the switch click and have checked the fuses which are all good but the compressor no longer runs.

No complaints good product
This thing is awesome if you enjoy doing your own mudifactions. I can’t speak for other big name brands. But I can say I’m glad I saved the money here. Removed my spare and placed everything where the trucks spare was. The compressors are noticeable from outside the truck but inside while the truck is running and radio on you don’t even here it. I suggest wiring the compressor to a switch as well so it’s not filling the tank when not needed. Limiting compressor operation will hopefully prolong the life. They get hot. But a small oiled compressor building 250 psi is a task.Horn is so loud. Honestly it’s a toy for me. Maybe useful in traffic but end of the day scaring the crap out of people walking into Walmart is just fun. 👌
