A great comprehensive guide to 3d-printing
Clear and concise intro to 3d printing, key principles, market overview (available printer types) and choice of entry level printers available, core components, material guide and troubleshooting. Everything you need to get a working print.Although there are many online guides and tutorials this is a great supplement and I'd recommend reading it before investing in a printer.I bought a Prusa i3 MK3S+ printer and learned a lot about the printer during assembly, this book clarified and consolidated my understanding of the printer and principles more generally in the first couple of weeks of printing. The only downside is that the print version has low res black and white images, while the text refers to colour coding. This is remedied as the author offers a pdf version of the book on request following purchase.

Very useful for the beginner 3d printing hobbyist
I read this book having several months of experience and having found out most of the issues mentioned through trial and error the hard way. Reading this book would have sped up the learning process a lot. You don't need a technical, electrical or engineering background to understand this book, nor 3d printing. Just a bit of common sense, a willingness to solve problems and a lot of patience. But reading this book will help a lot! I have only one criticism: personally I started with a build it yourself printer, which the author doesn't recommend. I would say putting that together taught me more about how the printer works than anything else could have. So I would recommend that as a beginner (even though it's not the easiest way).

Very useful
I found this book helpful as one starting out in 3D printing. The description of the different types of printers and feedstock has helped me in deciding which printing system to go for. I recommend this book to anyone considering entering the fascinating field of 3D print. The writer includes access to a pdf file of an updated written script together with higher-quality illustrations. This can be accessed from page 103 of the book. All in all a very useful primer in the arts of 3D printing.

RELEVANT INFORMATION AND ADVICE
There is a lot of technical stuff in this book you don't necessarily need to know but the important plus is that it's up to date (2020) so the recommendations and advice are more reliable than most available publications written a few years ago.

Superb book for a beginner - explained in clear and concise terms
The most useful part of this publication is the free PDF download of the book. There is a link to the download - you just provide a copy of your Amazon invoice and receive a link from the author to access the download. This is much clearer than the book and is in colour.I've not yet finished the book but when I have I feel that I will have all the knowledge required to purchase my first hobby 3-D printer.

Very useful introduction
I found this a good introduction to 3D printing. It is easy to read and covers a reasonable scope. One criticism I would have is the lack of subject index, although there is a useful one for figures.

This book did not explain any detail about using a 3d printer.
This book explained what a 3d printer could be used for. Not how. Sent it straight back.
