Works very well. Couple of minor nitpicks only.
Just as bit of a preface I have to say I find it a tad humorous than these are called "one touch" and then you must press them twice for them to do anything. They're called that because you don't manually pump it by hand as with most other models, but it is funny since it does require two touches. The first touch merely wakes it up, perhaps to save power or to help avoid accidents (such as cats who like to bump into things.) This is harmless and not really a complaint, just I would have named it "simple touch" or something instead.I switched to a SodaStream largely because it started getting hard to get drinks locally at times during the shortages. Sodas no longer seem to be experiencing shortages, but I still like this as an option as the drinks sort of taste fresher, I have more control over the amount of taste and sweetness (normal sodas really don't need as much as they have to still taste great!) and this actually works out cheaper besides. I don't know if you'll really end up losing weight if you use the recommended amount for best taste as it's not *that* much less than a normal soda at that point, but it is less and still tastes great besides. You'll probably have to sacrifice taste a bit if you want to decrease sugar intake with these -- but at least these give you that option. Though, of course, these also have sugar free variants (but then so do normal sodas, so I assume we're not comparing that.) It might be doable to mix half and half or so of each perhaps. The base unit came with one CO2 container and one plastic bottle. On looking at the bottle I do now wish it used something a bit sturdier. It has warnings about potential for explosion. I would assume this is very unlikely, but I worry about anything weakening the plastic such as scratches. Also, the plastic has an expiration date on it, so I would assume it degrades enough to not be safely reliable after that date. (It's quite a few years, but something to bear in mind.) I wish it had been sturdy enough to take more punishment. There is a model that has a glass bottle with it, but I don't think it's compatible with these. Plus glass is breakable in its own unpleasant ways. I have an aluminum thermos that I like to pour this into which is incredibly sturdy and able to take all the pressure of shaking this up (as well as keeping it cold even overnight) and I feel like it would be great if something like that could connect to these. I'm sure the normal bottles are fine under normal circumstances, but something sturdier like that would also have benefits of better insulation and just be all around nicer. As a side note, I haven't really had trouble with the CO2 escaping the water quickly. One thing I may possibly be doing differently is I'm using well filtered water that is kept very very cold and when I mix in the flavoring I shake it extremely thoroughly, so perhaps this makes the CO2 mix into the water a bit better. It probably especially doesn't work as well with plain tap water, so I recommend good filters.I had to take two notches off the "flavor" rating not because the flavor of the syrups they sell is bad, but because they just don't sell many. They make a number of different kinds including one I had hoped would taste more like the sort of sodas I prefer, but in actual practice of what you can buy that isn't being sold at a rip-off price (and probably past its best-by date at that) comes down to just three flavors: a Coca Cola taste-a-like, a Dr. Pepper taste-a-like (Dr. Pete,) and an energy drink mix that's maybe a little bit like Monster (sugar free only for some reason.) The first two come in sugar free variants, but the energy drink only comes as a sugar free. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of the taste of sugar free sodas, so for me that leaves two options only. I couldn't actually find any of the other flavors on store shelves and here on Amazon sellers are selling possibly old stock at prices high enough that I'm not willing to even try and find out. I really think that they should make more effort to ensure more flavors are actually out there and affordable to support their products. That said, at least the cola and "Pete" variants taste a lot like the namebrands they are emulating, so you'll probably at least like one or the other well enough to get by. I don't really get the Bubly at all as it's unsweetened, so just tastes like really acidic flavored water. (I guess some like that and if you do there are several options there.) If you like those, this is definitely a lot cheaper than the normal store options for flavored carbonated waters. I'd really like to see more options actually available and that don't cost an arm and a leg. I'm hoping this will improve in the future. One thing I really don't like (but only matters once in a while) is for some reason the CO2 cylinder doesn't quite fit in place. It has a hole cutout in the case that you have to slip it through (either angled or inserted from below) and in either case you basically have to pick the entire unit up and slip it through before you can set it back down. I don't really understand why it couldn't have accommodated the cylinder better such as by either being taller or just simply having an opening you could slide it through without lifting. All in all, not a bad option anyway.

Awesome... until it doesn't tell you when it's gonna sputter water all over your kitchen.
Got this product because I felt guilty counting up the club soda plastic bottles I recycled every month.Purely fiscally, I would say I broke even in about a year for the machine plus refills.I particularly enjoy that flat soda is a thing of the past.I tried one of the energy drink flavors, and it tasted about as terrible as the canned version, so no complaints there.I tried refilling at the local hardware store, and they were always either out or only offered a different brand, for which you'd have to also purchase the tanks. A different store simply was out most of the time. Signing up for mail-in meant to get additional tanks, but it's been worth the investment. No problems with the exchange anymore. However, it is possible to put the bottle into the dispenser without properly locking, and there is no feedback to tell you, so when you start the air, it sputters powerfully all over the kitchen. Since there is no way to turn the machine off, the only remedy is to pull the plug. A simple OFF button on the top, or a sensor that turns the machine off automatically, would be a great quality of life upgrade.

Easy to use, produces flavorful seltzer; shipped with a defective AC adapter
I am an avid seltzer drinker--typically I go through at least 4 355 ml cans of Polar per day--so purchasing a SodaStream or similar product was likely inevitable. But it also means that my expectations were high, and I am pleased to say that, with one caveat, they were met. The Fizzi One Touch model is relatively lightweight even with a full CO2 canister, and has a slim profile that makes it easy to place in your home as you see fit.The three carbonation levels it offers are distinctive enough from each other that you can taste and feel the difference right away. Assuming you use the 1 liter bottle provided with this model and fill it to the marked level:- The light carbonation option (one droplet icon on the button) will produce a gentle fizz, enough to tickle the tongue and lend the familiar slightly acid taste. I would liken this to some of the gentler commercial brands of sparkling water. The flavor and fizz are subtle enough that it can support mild flavoring. If you flavor it strongly, the 'seltzer' profile will be entirely overwhelmed.- The medium carbonation option (two droplet icon on the button) will produce a moderate fizz that tingles the whole mouth and carries a robust 'pure' seltzer flavor. This was comparable to Polar, albeit not a perfect match. If you are a regular drinker of cans marked 'seltzer' rather than 'sparkling water', this is likely the setting you want. If you choose to flavor this with something, understand that the seltzer flavor will still be prominent unless you go overboard.- The heavy carbonation option (three droplet icon on the button) will produce a powerful fizz that surges through the mouth and carries a rush of acid flavor. It is most like opening a seltzer can that has just been violently shaken and drinking the resulting eruption. For those who have never done this before, it can actually be quite satisfying if you are someone who drinks seltzer in part because it tends to feel more bubbly than flavored sodas, especially if the seltzer is very cold when you do this. I do not use this setting often, because you have to be craving that experience specifically.Loading up the CO2 canister was straightforward, as was disassembly/assembly. The provided bottle feels sturdy for a piece of plastic and because it isn't thermally insulated, you know what temperature you can expect your beverage to be as soon as you touch it; the cap twists on very securely, so no worries about spillage out from under it. Inserting the bottle into the injector is easy, and the latch mechanism keeps a firm hold on it such that the bottle doesn't jostle at all during the carbonation process. Typical plastic construction body, so it neither feels nor looks like a built-to-last item, but this is a minor gripe. So, why did I dock it a full star? The unit I received came with a defective AC power adapter. The first time I plugged the SodaStream in, everything worked as expected: meaning the buttons on the top lit up, and I was able to make a first batch of seltzer with a single button push. After drinking the first bottle, I went to make a new batch and the buttons did not respond. I went to check that the adapter was still firmly plugged in and though it was, it was also quite hot.I unplugged the adapter from the wall, and though I already suspected that the adapter was overheating, I still tested whether or not it was a defective wall socket by plugging it into other sockets that I knew were good; nothing. I then decided to test the 'overheating' hypothesis by leaving it unplugged until the adapter was no longer hot to the touch, then plugging it back into the socket I'd used originally; lo and behold, it worked! Annoying to have to always remember to unplug it after each use, but at least I had a workable solution.Unfortunately, I made a batch late at night before a trip and was too tired to notice that I had left it plugged in. I forgot all about it and went on my week long trip and returned to find it still plugged into the wall, and the adapter not hot at all . . . but also not supplying the SodaStream with any power. Waiting several hours after unplugging it did nothing, nor did using any other sockets. The socket into which it was plugged can still successfully power other devices. Consequently, I'm left with no other conclusion but that it was a defective adapter that overheated until dead. Thus my only real complaint is that I could only use the device a few times, and always had to unplug it after every use. If I could plug it in once and not have to worry about it, this would be getting a 4.75/5 (0.25 docked for the plastic construction). As it stands, 3.75/5.
