Q: What colors come with this set?

red, white, yellow. green. brown. blue as best I can remember.

Q: Will these work on canvas?

I can's answer about canvas. I have only worked it on fabric. But if you are careful to work it into the fibers of the canvas and not just on the surface it should be o.k.

Q: are these professional grade?

I consider the Shiva paints "professional" grade. I have seen them used by professionals. I have successfully used these oil sticks on fabric, washed the items successfully as indicated, and the colors remain clear. I have had some of the large sticks for eight years and as soon as the wax is removed they are moist and usable. I recommend Shiva paints wholeheartedly. I especially like the muted colors although the basics work for some things.
