Good range for indoor use
My old, thermopro was having issues, and I wanted more than two probes. After research, I settled on this product. It only has the unit which the probes plug into, no second "reader" unit - meaning you will need to have a smartphone with the app. But the range on it is very good! I am able to let my grill run while being one floor under it in the basement, but have no issues with the readings. It comes with four probes, but has the capability for two more. You at least need one for the grill to see how hot it is running (and it comes with one clipper for grill placement), and then you are left on your own for how many different meats to probe! Each probe setting has an option to be a pre-select temperature, and if food-safety guidelines allow for different cooking then you can choose "rare, medium, etc.".Again, this is a bluetooth unit. Not wifi (wifi has better range, but it means it needs to log on, ask for password, select network). It doesn't hold the pairing with the phone, your phone just needs the bluetooth to be on (kind of like a fitbit that syncs with your phone). As long as you are reasonably close, it will keep track. As of now, it meets my expectations. 5 out of 5 stars. If anything changes, I will update this.

Bribed to change my review. Disappointed, does not work after less than 6 months of minimal useage.
Since posting my original review below, the vendor has tried to bribe me on 3 separate occasions to change my review for $30. I told them I would try a replacement product. If it worked better, I would change my review. Pretty slimy and it’s becoming a common practice by Amazon vendors to boost the all important product ratings.ORIGINAL REVIEWThe main unit stopped working in less than 6 months of light usage. The blue tooth function regularly had connectivity issues. Simply not easy to use, probes melted. Wireless is the way to go. Check out MEATER products!

Perfectly cooked meat!
This is the best meat thermometer I have ever used!1. I love that the probes can go in the oven so I don't need to constantly open up the oven, pull out the tray, and poke it repeatedly to check the meat. I can almost set it and forget it. I get up to date readings right on my phone with a really easy to use app that requires basically no setup. The monitor it comes with is also super easy to use.2. You can have up to 6 probes going at once! (It only comes with 4 but maybe you can get additional compatible ones.) That's super handy when you have multiple pieces of meat in there at one time. The monitor has each input port numbered so it's easy to tell which piece of meat it's reading. The wiring is also very thin but durable so it doesn't leave your oven door ajar and you don't have to worry about the wiring being severed by the oven door.3. Being able to use temperature readings instead of relying on a recipe's time hoping you've cooked it for a long enough time but not too long is really helpful to get perfectly cooked meat. I tried this first on 3 chicken breasts (pictured. Don't mind the burnt sweet marinade on the foil. The meat did not burn at all). They were cooked to PERFECTION. Springy and moist. The taste and mouthfeel are amazing.I'll try using it on the stove top next.

Worked out great for the holiday turkey!
10/26/20: Update to my review from last Dec.I planned to use the Soraken sensor last night while cooking a tri tip only to find out that the sensor had stopped working. I initially thought it was old batteries, but even after replacing with new batteries it did not work. I'm disappointed that this product did not last a year. When it did work it did so very accurately, but apparently it's not built to last.**************I considered the Soraken vs the iGrill from Weber. I'm happy that I went with the Soraken. It came with more temperature sensors than the iGrill and was half the cost.Upon receiving the thermometer I checked each sensor in boiling water to make sure that they were calibrated correctly. Each one accurately measured 212F, which gave me confidence from the get go. Set up was easy and the app makes monitoring the temperature of each sensor very handy.I purchased the thermometer before Thanksgiving and wanted to try it on our 24 pound turkey, which we cooked on the Weber grill. At first I was going to just use two sensors ... one for the thigh and another for the inside temperature of the grill. However, once I realized that I had two additional sensors I decided to use one in each turkey breast. I'm glad I did because it became evident during the cooking process that one side of the turkey was cooking fast than the other. This gave me the ability to adjust my burners and even out the cooking process. Our turkey finished in about 4.5 hours and I was confident that with all the sensors it was perfectly cooked. The family said that it was the best turkey they ever had. I was very pleased.I'm looking forward to using this sensor when I cook triptips, roasts, brisket, chicken, etc. It's easy and fun to use and takes the guessing game out of knowing if the meat is finished.Awesome product!

Great thermometer for long smoking sessions
This is the second one I am buying, one for summer home one for main residence. I do a lot of meat smoking on the big green egg / Kamado joe and this thing is great for keeping track of the temperatures both inside the dome and the meat. I have put the probes through a few smoking sessions, no issues so far. It actually made me realize that the built in thermometer inside my big green egg needed calibration. The app is pretty good as well alerts and monitoring work as advertised. The only little wrinkle with the app is this: I haven’t found a way to synchronize it with two units (like in my case). You have to remove the first one in the app to add another one. It’s not really a big deal because pairing is done from the app and takes like 3 seconds, and I won’t have to do this often. Besides that the app is great.
