Learning Resources 3037 Kanoodle Cosmic Logic Puzzle Game for Independent Play, Ages 7+

Bought to stop myself constantly doom scrolling on my phone because I need something to engage my brain and hands while travelling as a passenger. It's great, didn't give a headache like reading does and engages other passengers as well when I get stuck with a solution

This game is brilliantly named for young puzzle fans ! "Kanoodle Cosmic Logic Puzzle" should appeal to anyone who enjoys logic games such as Rubik's Cube, from 7 years upwards. The kit is about the size of large playing card pack, ideal for popping in your pocket and for travel. The secure black box contains an inset tray with 12 puzzle pieces and a booklet of puzzles to solve. The rules are simple and easy to get started straight away.The 12 pieces each have their own bright colour and they are reversible. There is a letter code on each piece - 6 of the pieces are asymmetrical thus increasing the number of possible shape combinations. These 6 pieces have their letter code printed inside a circle on one side, and a triangle on the reverse and this is an important feature. The booklet has 200 puzzles to solve, they are not numbered but get harder as you go on, with fewer pieces placed in the tray to start with. Being oldies we found it quite hard to read the puzzles and the letter codes without good bright light and our specs, but no problem for the grandchildren of 9 and 11!The game is really portable, well made, addictive and the rules are so easy to learn. At the time of writing price was not available on Amazon UK but on their US site it is about 13 dollars which seems good value for the play value and longevity. Recommended.

This puzzle game is about the size of a deck of cards which makes it super easy to carry round with you be it on holiday or travelling.The puzzle game itself sits in a plastic case and you have a book of 200 puzzles to use. You pick a puzzle and copy it on to your board but there will be part of it unfinished and the puzzle for you is how to fit the remaining pieces on to the board! It sounds easy but it really isn’t. Puzzle games are my thing it’s all I play and I thought I’d find this too easy but it wasn’t.I found the book a bit flimsy and it kept wanting to shut so I was holding it open while playing I think it would be better if the puzzles were on cards (like playing cards) and you could sit the card you’re using into the lid.That aside it is a simple but fun game that is much harder than it looks. I think this will be an essential on long journeys and camping holidays. At £12.50 (Jan ‘21) I think it is priced just right. More than happy to recommend.

This is a good little game for taking on your travels with you, whether it be on a train or car this game comes in its own little carry case that will fit in your pocket. The plastic used is thick and very solid. It comes with a little book that has hundreds of solutions to start you off. Solving the puzzles can become quite frustrating or fun whichever way you look at it. The puzzle book is far too tempting to having a peek into if it’s so tricky to do. The price is a little on the high side for what it is but the storage box is so sturdy that I think this game will survive many years of tinkering. I give it the thumbs up 👍 and would highly recommend it.

A great brain game for age 7 to adult. The game is very compact in its own plastic case/board; it arrives in a cardboard sleeve. It's a one player game, but it would be easy enough to make it a family one by taking turns and timing how quickly each family member solves the puzzle (my suggestion). There are twelve puzzle pieces that can be used both ways/sides; this is explained in the booklet that is included in this game. Each piece is a different colour and shape with a letter from A to L. To play the game you need open the booklet and choose a puzzle. You then arrange the pieces on the board (plastic case) to match the puzzle. Now the challenging part: place the remaining pieces on the board to complete the puzzle without moving the pieces you placed to set up the puzzle. There are 200 puzzles to solve, gradually getting more challenging the further you go through the booklet. An involving and portable puzzle game that I am happy to recommend.

This compact puzzle game may seem easy at first, but it turns out to be a mind boggling box of fun!There are 12 pieces which fit together inside a small black box. Your job is to take them out and then put them back in. Sounds easy right? Well initially yes, there is a picture of the original set up on the box so you can easily memorise this. However, the book of instructions has LOTS of different ways to start from and there will only be ONE way that all the pieces can fit together out of hundreds of combinations. It really is difficult yet addictive to play!Both my wife and I like this game, as well as our kids. It would make a great travelling game, since the box fits into your hand so could be taken anywhere.

Really good, my 5 year old I find is slow at some things and getting him to concentrate or spend more than 5 minutes on something is hard work. This engaged him for some time, it is easy to do, we followed the booklet which has 200 puzzles to piece together. He looked at the shapes and we said some looked almost like things ie a frog or reindeer! They slot in easily. With the empty areas you then have to solve which left over shapes fit in the empty areas, you have to use all the pieces. Very good puzzle for any age, I could happily sit and spuddle with this!

This isn't really a game for everyone. The puzzles are decpetively difficult and require a particular way of thinking to solve them. The game involves a variety of pieces that fit into the board, as well as cards detailing various layouts. Once these are complete, the challenge is to place the remaining pieces on the boards in the gaps. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! For the right type of puzzle solver, these will provide no end of head scratching challenges. The set is also compact and light and is ideal for travel.

These games are good for children and adults of all ages. They stimulate thinking and are good for the brain. Great problem solvng skills needed, or develops when playing these games. I used them both in my classroom and my library for over 20 years. I started using them for my small children on long plane trips.

Maybe this is my fault for not understanding, but I assumed the puzzle challenges would be cards or something to refer to on the inside of the lid. But all the challenges are in the booklet. This is a travel size game so somehow you're supposed to balance the holder, the pieces, and the booklet? It wont work for the kids in the backseat of a car, which is what I imagined this was. At a table, it would be fine. I guess I will keep it, but just not really what I thought it would be.
