Don't go in with deceptively high expectations
After all the rave reviews, I was really excited to try this. I really enjoyed "In the Distance There is Light" and I love age gap....I just didn't get it in this book. One character has expressed disinterest in dating, the other has bitterly sworn it off. Yet after one awkward exchange and an okay dance, they go on a date. The date is okay, I guess.I don't... I think if there was less time spent being told they like each other and instead I was shown some genuine connection, I could understand why they even start things up. Their situation has risk. I love subtlety. I love slow burn. But this was... I completely didn't understand why they would even start things up. It's like they're being rushed to be put together so the writer can get to the drama of what their romantic relationship will mean to their other relationships. It's not that this author is a bad writer, it's just all the high reviews gave me high expectations. Your mileage may vary, but I was unfortunately disappointed.

Perfect In Every Way!!!!!
When I read a book by Harper Bliss I know that it will be awesome and perfect and beautifully written. Yes, she has done it once again. I couldn't put the book down and it had everything I love to read about. Age gap is one of my favorite kind of stories and this one was a perfect example. Ash was having a hard time recovering from her divorce. Gloria had a wonderful marriage but was having a hard time recovering from the loss of her husband. Who knew these two women were kind of destined to be together. The only thing standing in their way was that each of them was battling her own internal struggle about the whole relationship. With Ash because she never wanted to get married again and was not looking for another partner. With Gloria because she had never been with another woman. Wow!!! I loved how they connected so quickly and loved so powerfully. Their whole journey was a joy to read. Thank you so much, Harper, for another unforgettable book!

I devoured this book and it left me sated...
Ash and Gloria never intended to be together. But after sitting with Gloria at her own mother’s retirement party, something just clicked. They seemed to be unable to stay apart from one another. But Gloria’s friend for many years was Ash’s mother. Adding to the torture of being apart was the thought of what their family and friends would think of this new relationship.Of all the things going on in this story, the undeniable attraction and raw emotions as new love, unexpected and unavoidable, rises from the heat of lust and the fear of an unusual relationship were the most vividly portrayed by the author. This book is sweet, hot and beautiful all at once. Read it and you will remember what it is like to fall in love.

The heart knows it exists to be touched like that, a kiss for a lifetime.
Oh my this story was one of divine providence that brought two hearts together. Ashley Cooper was a recently divorced woman. After 5 years she and her wife were no longer in love. The breakup had been difficult and closure came at quite a price for Asia's heart. At her Mother's birthday party she reconnect with Gloria Young who has been a widow for many years. The connection she felt with Ash surprised her, after all her husband was the love of her life what more could she expect. Harper Bliss has given another given another age gap attraction of epic proportions. The characters are extremely attracted to each other but fear what everyone else will think. The very real conversations with those they love must happen for their love to have a chance. This is such a rich story in love that should not be limited by others. Their life changing connection bring them each life in a new way. This a beautifully hot romance that made me laugh, had me crying and filled my heart with real hop that love wins! This is a must read I could not put down once I met the characters. I enjoy how they would grow in both attraction and deep love. Another magical story.

This book was not what I expected
3 stars. Ashley "Ash" Cooper is still recooperating from her last divorce. She is attending her parent's party, and she winds up sitting next to Gloria Young. Gloria's husband died ten years ago and she had to raise her two daughters by herself. Now both her daughters are in college and she enjoying her quiet life in Murraywood. Her thoughts about life are changed when she goes to London to meet Ash. Gloria and Ash can't help but spend more time together, even if it seems like it could cause problems. Gloria is 12 years older than Ash and she is good friends with Ash's parents, bit they cannot stay away from each other.I thought this book was okay. There was not much build up when it came to the two of them. It seems like it kind of went from Ash and Gloria getting to know each other and then hooking up. I love build up in novels, especially with a woman who never dated another woman again, and this book had none of it. The characters went from zero to 100 super quick and I found that a little strange. I would only recommend this novel if you enjoy Harper Bliss.

Ok
I’m only half way through and it’s taken me awhile to get this far.....not too interested in finishing.....and that is so unlike me (especially with a HB novel). I can’t connect with either of the main characters, can’t feel the attraction that is described nor that draw this author usually commands.Did finish, somewhat redeemed but took far too long. Sex is not a substitute for substance

Age Gap Lesbian RomCom.
An age gap romance from Harper Bliss is always welcome and in this instance, the significant statistic is that these are two middle-classed professional women one is 42 and the other is 54. Different aspects of this lesbian romcom will appeal to different readers. I found it heartening that these middle-aged characters are older and appreciate the inclusively aspects of diversity which runs throughout.I struggled to be able to picture these characters. Descriptions are fleeting and layered which build up to an extent throughout the course of the book, subsequently the reader doesn't get an immediate connection with the main characters. I also found the characters lacking in comparison to Harper's usual detailed description. I found it all a bit bland to be honest.

What's Not To Like
Another fabulous age gap romance it's up there vying for number one spot with In The Distance There is Light, beautiful heart warning read for a cold , wet , miserable , rainy night in November.P.S, on the rare occasions I listen to Celine Dion without a smile on my face😉

.
Cute age-gap romance with characters that are both middle aged, which doesn't happen very often.Admittedly I could do with their relationship being less off again on again but otherwise it was an enjoyable read.
