Very good book very good series
I could not put this book down. This whole series is excellent. I love the way they tell a story and keep the sex to the imagination some details but very tasteful done. The best thing is they make the women strong characters with a mind of there own but can still be women.

Biting Bad is...Biting Good.
Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires series has had me hooked from book one. I like our heroine, Merit, and think she does fewer really dumb things than many female leading characters. Now and then, I want to knock her up beside the head, but mostly, she's a common sense gal who occasionally forgets to look both ways before stepping into a dangerous neighborhood.Ethan Sullivan, the Liege of Cadogan House, is one of my favorite vampity characters. He's elegant, refined, sophisticated, and over 300 years old. Oh, and he's totally smitten with the Sentinel for his house, the aforementioned Merit. Of course, this state of smittenhood was not an instant thing for either of them, but it has turned out well in the long run, and they are a power couple to be reckoned with. Merit isn't just another kick-butt chick with a katana, though she does kick butt. And use a katana. But there's a lot more to her than that, and she's very likable.I wasn't thrilled at the start of "Biting Bad," the 8th book in the series, to see Mallory taking up so much page space again. She is not a favorite character of mine, but it's obvious both Mallory and her magic are going to figure prominently as the story moves forward, so I'll have to deal with it. I enjoyed this installment, though I can't say "Biting Bad" was as exciting as some of the earlier books. But it is setting things up for what promises to be a big showdown between the rebellious Cadogan House vampires, led by Ethan and Merit, and the governing body of all vamps, the powerful but generally corrupt and inept Greenwich Presidium. I suspect there's going to be a hot time in Chicago when it all comes to a boil!"Biting Bad" moves the story along smoothly, deals with at least one really nasty character, and has some nice tender moments between Merit and Ethan. If you are already hooked on the Chicagoland Vamps, you won't want to miss this one. If you aren't, go back to Book One, "Nice Girls Bite," and catch up with the rest of us! It's a fun series.

Biting Bad feels like we're back at the beginning of the series
Biting Bad picks up a couple of months after the events of House Rules. Cadogan House officially broke from the Greenwich Presidium and seem to be living just fine as a "rogue" house. Of course just when things seem like they might be quieting down, a riot breaks out at the Bllod4U factory. Add to it the fact that the GP has decided to blacklist Cadogan House (making it forbidden and considered an act of war if any affliated house so much as looks at a Cadogan vamp) and things are back to "normal" for Merit and crew.I really felt like with Biting Bad we are getting back to what the series was before the life-changing events in Hard Bitten. Everyone is trying to get back to where their characters once were it seems. Obviously there are a few alterations due to the events of the previous books, but Biting Bad reall focused on Chicago politics and the mystery surrounding the riots. Ethan and Merit's relationship held strong throughout the entire book which was a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the back and forth between the two as much as anyone, but when it gets to the point where every book questions their relationship, it was bordering on tiring. Biting Bad keeps them solidified as a couple while everything around them seemingly falls apart. It was good that Merit's attentions weren't split between her feelings for Ethan and the mystery. More focus could be put in figuring out the riots and what they mean for the vampires of Chicago.Neill still makes the relationship between these two hot, but it seems natural not forced. I'm very interested to see where their relationship moves to in future books. Since we are here, I hope that Neill continues to focus on them strengthening the relationship and is done with tearing them apart and putting them back together.Mallory too is beginning to return to normal making moves to fix the damage she brought when she became evil Mallory. I had a terrible gut feeling that maybe this is a little premature on her part, but hopefully I'm wrong about that. I do like that Neill is taking her time repairing Mallory's relationships. The things she did could have hurt a lot of people, it's only realistic to think that there would be hesitancy for her friends to completely trust her again.John McKettrick is making trouble once again for the vampires. I'll admit, I was hoping he would be more of a hands on foe for our group, but I guess I can't count him out just yet. I'm interested to see if Neill has more in store for him.The end of Biting Bad is a slight cliffhanger. Nothing too bad, but it definitely leads us right into Wild Things which will be out in February 2014. I'm happy that Chloe Neill could successfully take us back to the feeling of the first books in the series. In the chaos created with the last few books it's nice to go back to the slightly familiar.

Read it in One day
I have read every book in this series and I think this is one of my favorites. The development of the relationship between Ethan and Merit is fantastic. He is becoming more romantic even while remaining a Master and she is more accepting of her vampirism. Just when you think things are finally settling down for them, Bam!, Ms Neill hits you with the ending of this book. I devoured this book and now I have to wait impatiently for the next one to appear. I hope Ms Neill has twenty more books planned in this series because even with twenty I don't think I will be tired of these characters. I like the progression of the relationships between the secondary characters in each of the books as well. Every time I read one of these books, I feel like I'm being given a peak into the lives of and entire family, and I keep wanting an expanded view. Keep up the wonderful work Ms Neill, and hurry up your writing.

continuing good read
Plenty of twists turns and trouble following this story. Makes you want to continue the lives of the characters. And see where they go.

BOOK 8 Merit The Vamp (Chicagoland)
At this point there is nothing more to be said. Excellent series and characters. Lots of House tension and changes for Ethan and Merits house....thats all I will say as I do not like giving plot details away in reviews. If you have read the series to this point I know you will keep going. Well done Chloe Neill.

Biting Merit
Ah the life of a sentinel, nothing is to interesting for our Merit, it does surprise me though how much has happened to her in such a short period of time. It definitely feels longer . Lol
