Compared to cracking nuts with a conventional two levered gadget, this is much better. It handles most nuts, but not if they are too big. Some Brazil nuts are difficult to fit inside the chamber. It has no problem with cracking the nuts, and it's great that most if not all of the shell is captured in the tumbler part.It is very convenient, but expensive. Probably more value for money if you have a problem using the conventional type.

A great nut cracker and does almost everything a good nutcracker should do. Easy to use, cracks most nuts cleanly and retains most of the bits. It still struggles with Brazil nuts and yes it cracks them but actually crushes them. Great for Walnuts, Hazel nuts and Almonds. Very expensive for a nutcracker!

This is a which? recommended device which is why I bought it. It isn’t cheap but beautifully made. For small and medium nuts it is fantastic but for the largest nuts you have to have huge hands to be able to squeeze the trigger. I would not get for anyone with arthritis in their hands or a weak grip and you can’t use it for any nut but otherwise a great device and worthy Christmas present

I have only tried this nutcracker with four types of nuts. It is very good at opening Hazelnuts and Almonds, but not as good as my standard shaped, but quality, nutcracker at opening Walnuts or Pecans.

Perhaps I bought faulty one, but I literally was cracking my third nut when it broke. Perhaps it was a tough nut but I suppose it's a nutcracker and supposed to deal with this. Not worth the money. Pity because the design is great.
